Penguin Love Blog Hop Challenge

These cute little penguins are sure to warm your hearts! This set was originally going to be called ‘For the love of penguins’ but it was a bit of a mouthful so I shortened it to just Penguin Love. Because of the versatility of these fun images, I have a feeling that this set is going to become a favorite of your TSG collection. Not only can it be used for holiday cards, but for every day cards as well! With a total of 55 (yes, I said 55!!) stamps in this 6x8 size set, the possibilities are endless. And did I mention that this set will sell for only $23??? :D

Would you like a chance to win this super cute set?? Go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Penguin Love Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished commenting, return to the TSG Blog to add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. A winner will be chosen from the Mr. Linky Participants using a random number generator and will be announced Saturday during the Release Party Chat. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on Saturday!

New TSG Mini Sets Blog Hop Challenge

I know how much you all love your TSG Mini Sets so this month I am adding two more to the TSG stamp line!

HSH Hanukkah Additions: I have had some requests from customers saying that they would love to have images they could use for making cards for their Jewish friends that celebrate Hanukkah. So with the help of my friend Meredith, I created the mini set HSH Hanukkah Additions. Not only does this set have smaller images designed to use with your new Home Sweet Home set but also larger images with great sentiments that can be used to create beautiful Hanukkah cards! HSH Hanukkah Additions includes 9 stamps and will sell for only $7.

Stick Together: The other new mini set is definitely something that was needed in the TSG stamp line- Snowflakes! With the holidays just around the corner I’m sure most of you are working on getting your Christmas cards stamped and ready to go out to friends and family. Once in awhile it is nice to make a non holiday related winter card to send out and this mini set is perfect for just that! Stick Together has a total of 11 stamps including two heartwarming friendship sentiments, a bunch of beautiful snowflakes and even some dotted swirl flourishes for only $7!!

Would you like the chance to win both of these new mini sets? Go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their New TSG Mini Sets Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished commenting, return to the TSG Blog to add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. A winner will be chosen from the Mr. Linky participants using a random number generator. The winner will be announced Saturday during the Release Party Chat.

Stampbook Saturday - Julie

I planned on doing a traditional Stampbook page where you CASE a card and turn it into a scrapbook page, however, I sat down to scrapbook one day this week and just kept reaching for my TSG stamps! I created the vine border with one of my favorite stamps from the Butterfly Happiness set and I just couldn't find any suitable embellishments in my stash so I made my own with the pumpkin from HSH Halloween Additions and the tree from Branching Out. This page came together so much easier when I decided to create embellishments to fit the page.

Recipe~
Stamps ~
Butterfly Happiness, HSH Halloween Additions, Branching Out
Ink ~ Palette Noir Blacj, PTI Fresh Snow
Paper ~ SU Kraft, Pink Paislee Twilight, Basic Black
Accessories ~ American Crafts Thickers and Felt Flower, SU brad, SU Markers

Dollar Find Friday -- Star Ornament

*Friday Night Chat tonight in the TSG Forum located here. The official chat will begin at 7 PM Pacific Time (10 PM Eastern) but feel free to stop in and say hi throughout the day!*

Happy Friday and TSG Dollar Find Friday!! It's Maki again. Today's post is my last day of Featured Trendsetter's week. This week has been passing so fast but I've had a lot of fun time here!!

For the DFF project, I purchased this star photo ornament for a dollar at my local major craft store. I make hand-made ornament for my kids every year and I thought this would be a great one for my son. Since I used his football picture, I used the school colors - maroon & white :)

I took off the wire part and colored the star with white acrylic paint using a foam brush. I needed to coat 3 times at least. Then using masking tape, I masked the surface and I painted the edge with maroon acrylic paint. And I drew dots with white marker. After the paints were dried, I stamped the star & circle shaped image from Tweeterpated set with chalk maroon ink. Each letter of "Wild Cats" were stamped with Palette noir black ink using A-Z and 1,2,3 set. The contrast of white and maroon was little too bright for my taste so I sponged the entire star with maroon acrylic paint. The pearls were adhered on each shape and the ribbon were attached on the back of the star with E-6000 for hanging. I also adhered magnet strip on the back so that I can stick to my fridge:):)

Well, what do you think about my DFF ornament??

Stamps: Tweeterpated, A-Z and 1, 2, 3 (TSG)
Ink: Acrylic paint - white, maroon, Palette noir black, Fluid chalk maroon, pigment white marker
Accessories: pearls, ribbon

Tools: foam brush, masking tape, E-6000, sponge

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

Not only did she do a beautiful job on last week's sketch challenge (brought to us by Jodi), but her entire SCS gallery is filled with wonderful cards. She seems to have a talent for clean and simple cards with a flair!

Wednesday Trends -- Custom DP

Hello there, it's Maki. Welcome to my Wednesday Trends!! One of my favorite things to do with stamping is making my own custom designer paper. With just a little time of effort, you can make one of kind beautiful designs!! Do you already own so many designer papers that are needed to be used?? No problem! Look at the card above -- I stamped the images from Treemendous set around the edge of the specialty paper and then sponged the chalk ink around the same edge to make it distressed. I usually pick subtle and monochromatic colored designer papers so that the stamped images are shown well.

Here are a couple more samples I made a while ago.

[card 1]
Stamps: Treemendous (TSG)
Paper: Specialty DPs, kraft cardstock
Ink: chocolate chip, close to cocoa, VersaMagic aegean blue, aspen mist
Accessories: ribbon, dew drops
, white gel pen

Stampbook Saturday- Jessica

Sorry for the late post today! It's been a crazy day in the Knutsen household as we are doing some remodeling while 3 little ones try to 'help'. ;)

Usually Stampbook Saturday is all about casing a card and turning it into a Stampbook Page. This week is a little different. I've been inspired by all of the great layouts that Julie has been posting on her blog this week so I tried to channel her and created this page. I love how the colors really stand out against the Kraft background as well as that I am able to add 3 pictures instead of the usual one picture pages that I usually like to create!

Recipe:
Stamps- Branching Out, A,B,C & 1,2,3
Paper- Kraft, SU Haiku, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron
Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories- Copic Markers, Chipboard Embellishments ($1 at Joanns), buttons, embroidery thread, brads, corner rounder, dimensionals

Dollar Find Friday - I Lost A Tooth Box!!

Don't forget to join us tonight for our Friday Night Chat! It will officially begin at 7 PM Pacific Time (10 PM Eastern) but feel free to stop in any time today to say hello. You need to be a registered member of the forum to view or post so make sure you do that first :) 'See' you tonight!
*********************
Hi everyone! Happy Friday! It's Jodi here with you again for Dollar Find Friday!!

Today's Dollar Find Friday post wraps up my week as the Featured Trendsetter here on the There She Goes Blog, and I must say, this has been SO much fun!!

For my Dollar Find Friday project, I decided to alter a $1.00 Paper Mache box that I picked up at my local big box craft store!! They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and for just a $1.00, you can certainly make an inexpensive, yet darling, little gift!! I think this "I lost a tooth" box would be super easy to mass produce for a craft fair!!!

I covered my box and lid with two different patterns of Girl Friday paper from Cosmo Cricket! The colors and patterns on this paper are so fun and they totally look PERFECT with this UBER adorable fairy from Fairy Good Day!

I stamped the fairy onto Choice Buttercream cardstock and colored her with Copic Markers. I added a coat of Pixie Dust Bling onto her wings and dress for a bit of extra sparkle! I framed her in Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, and continue with my "theme" for this week, I added some piercing too!

I stamped the sentiment, "I Lost A Tooth", and created a tab for it. A bit more piercing went on this panel and some sponging as well!!

I popped her up on some Foam Tape, which you can see the dimension on this picture here.

I finished decorating my box with a border of Buttercream scallops, as well as some Blue Bayou Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and called it done!!! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

Thanks SO much for stopping by and for sharing my super fun week with me!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Fairy Good Day
Paper: Choice Buttercream, Pixie Pink & Girl Friday by Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Copic Markers, Pixie Dust Blingz, Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Blue Bayou Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and Foam Tape

Trendsetting Spotlight- Michele L.

It's Trendsetting Spotlight time! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

I had so much fun checking out all of your Monochromatic Mania challenge cards! I was happy to see a lot of familiar 'faces' and some new ones as well. While doing some challenge card blog hopping, there was one card that really caught my eye. Today the Trendsetting Spotlight is shining on this beautiful card made by Michele L. I love that she incorporated some of that beautiful silver paper into her black/grey/white card, it really makes it stand out! The layout is simple yet well put together and tying the sentiment panel with ribbon makes for an elegant touch.
Beautiful job Michele, thank you so much for sharing your Treemendous Monochromatic Mania card with us ;) And thanks to all of you who played along in our challenge this week, I hope you will participate again this week in our TSG24 sketch challenge brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week Jodi!

Wednesday Trends - Paper Piercing!!

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! This is Jodi here with you today and I get to show you one of my personal favorite trends, Paper Piercing!!

Now, those of you that "know" me, know it is SUPER hard for me to make a card and NOT paper pierce on it!! I just think that paper piercing, whether it is on every layer or just on a focal layer, really adds alot of dimension and interest to a card.

For my card, which is also for yesterday's Color Challenge on SCS, CC240, and for sketch challenge MTSC43, I used one of my ALL time favorite There She Goes sets, Bloom!!

I stamped my focal image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers. I sponged the Buttercream and Apricot layers with Apricot Appeal ink and then Close to Cocoa Ink for a warm look.

This is a picture of my finished card, but I thought I would share how and when I add piercing to my card!

In this picture, you can see that I create each of my layers and focal image, and I adhere the layers together for each panel.
After I have my sections glued together, I then add my piercing. I find that you get a MUCH cleaner pierce, and less of a wobbly line, when you pierce with two to three pieces of cardstock adhered together. When you try and pierce a single piece of cardstock or patterned paper, you can rip or crease the paper. Too many layers and you can ruin your piercing template!!
Here is a picture of all of the tools in my personal piercing arsenal (giggle!!).
On almost every card I create, I use the paper piercing template, mat and tool from SU!. I also use the Ornare piercing template when I want a more elegant look. The Pierceabilities line from Spellbinders are also right up my alley! I recently started using a really fun template from Crafter's Workshop as well for piercing designs!
I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my crazy paper piercing world, and for those non-piercers out there, perhaps you will give it a whirl!!
Thanks SO much for stopping by!!! We LOVE to see you here!!!
