Trendsetting Spotlight on Cynthia!

Hello TSG Fans, and Happy Thursday! It is time for this week's Trendsetting Spotlight, and this week, the spotlight is on our friend Cynthia, Stampin' In Alaska!

I was first drawn to her blog by her ADORABLE entry in last week's Cork Challenge using Puppy Love. I LOVE how she made the cork a heart, and stamped that cute puppy on it! Adorable!!

When I found these next cards made with the Loads of Fun set, I was SUPER impressed by her sponging...holy cow, look at those clouds!!

And another one, with the awesome clouds!

And then a perfect pair of socks!! SO CUTE!!

Be sure to stop by Cynthia's blog to see more of her fabulous work!!
Happy Stampy Day!

Wednesday Trends

Hi there TSG fans! It's Tobi here with this week's trends post, and I am talking about stencils and distress inks. Art journaling is huge right now and the use of stencils and sprays and inks is everywhere you look in the scrapbooking/journaling world - but not so much in the cardmaking world. I work in a Scrapbook store and am continuously inspired by the products and fellow teachers I work with, so this is my attempt to bring a little of that world to our world..

I started by choosing a stencil that worked with a sentiment I had picked out and selected my "palette" - a manila tag.

I inked the edges with one of my favourite distress inks - scattered straw.

I then placed the stencil on the tag and sponged a couple different blue inks while holding the stencil in place.

Once I was done applying inks I misted the area with water. This gave the colors a muted and slightly mottled look.... Lovely!

Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.

The tag was finished off with some ripped patterned papers, a little lace and the sentiment from Follow Your Bliss stamped on a chipboard accent.... Thanks for joining me today, and I'll see you Friday with a cool non-card project.. It's sweet!!

Trendsetter Tuesday -Tobi!!

Hey TSG Fans!! It's time for this week's Trendsetter Tuesday post, and tonight we are focused on long time Trendsetter Tobi Crawford!! Tobi has been with TSG for a while, and we LOVE her to pieces!! She is smart, funny, and MEGA talented!! I really can't find ANYTHING that she isn't AMAZING at...plus, she is a procrastinator like me, so we are kindred like that, LOL!!

Her first card tonight was made using one of Torico's fabulous dog sets, Ruh-Roh. I ADORE her layout, and you can't even begin to understand how MUCH I admire her coloring skills....I have seen them up close and personal, and it's BEYOND words. SO talented.

This card makes me want to learn to bake cakes so I can decorate them JUST LIKE THIS!! It has a Rainbow Brite feel to it, and makes me all nostalgic for my youth!! Her layout, attention to color and detail, and LOOK AT THAT COLORING.....wowza! My favorite A Little Treat card to date, I must say!

I LOVE gnomes, and this card made with My Little Friend makes me GIDDY!! It's so CAS, but PERFECT...I don't even feel the need to poke holes in it or embellish it at all!! I admire when people can do CAS so easily, and she has ROCKED it!!

I could LITERALLY go on for days showing off her FABULOUS work, but I will let you go take a look for yourself! Be sure to visit her blog and tell her how much you LOVE her, too!!

Stampbook Saturday

Hello!  It's Karen here again, and I'm excited to bring you another week of Stampbook Saturday.  I found a fun layout and thought it would be a cute 8x8 page.

My daughter wanted to have a Scientist Theme for her 9th birthday party this past October and that sent her daddy into a mad search for the perfect cake to make.  He found this one, and completed it with plastic pipe and dry ice.  LOVED Avery's expression when the smoke rose out of the top of the beaker.

Avery completely dressed the part of Girl Scientist with her white lab coat and goggles, which I have to admit, are racquetball goggles for her Build-a-Bear buddy.  LOL!

So, you can imagine my delight when TSG came out with Cutie Pi!  The page base is kraft cardstock and the papers are all Farmhouse 8x8 from October Afternoon.  I added some accent stitching and then popped up the UR brilliant circle with a foam dot.

On a personal note, I just want to send a huge shout out to Jessica Knutsen, who saw something in me and invited me to play with her sweet stamps.  I've loved every minute of my time on the Trendsetter team and, Jess, I cannot thank you enough.  And to the amazing women on this team - you inspire me deeply and I will miss working along with you and now I'll be stalking you all from the other side {insert maniacal laugh}.  Love you girls!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

ABC Friday

Hi friends!  It's Karen again and I'm back with an Anything But a Card project for you that is so super simple and very quick.

It seems like my counter top is always overflowing with artwork and papers the kids bring home from school, and I'd love to be able to display these precious works a little better.  I found a 4-pack of clip magnets in the Dollar Spot at Target, which makes this project super cheap!  Yes!

Here is the set - you can click on the photos to see a larger image if you wish.

I forgot to get step by step photos for you - DOH!  I started by cutting out the World's Best Dies in red, pink, turquoise, and orange cardstock.  These would be the favorite colors of the young ones.  Then I used the World's Best stamp set to stamp the award ribbon and little ribbon accents.  I used a 1" circle punch for the cream center and then stamped the sentiments and the circle border.  After coloring the accents in the ribbons with Copic Markers, I glued the pieces together and then attached them to the clip magnets with some foam tape.

What a fun way to turn ordinary, black clip magnets into something bright and fun for your family.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
