Trendsetting Spotlight on-Nancy Thomas

When I saw Nancy Thomas' entry into a recent There She Goes challenge, I knew I wanted to feature her in the spotlight...and then I went to her blog and saw all the GORGEOUS cards she has made with the Oh Snap set and I KNEW I  had hit the spotlight jackpot!

Her first card was her entry for our recent release week sketch challenge. She did SUCH a fabulous job with it..and I LOVE the amazing colors, embellishments, papers, and well EVERYTHING she chose! So gorgeous!!

While looking at her blog, I found THIS card, which I LOVE so much, too! Great papers, and embellishments again, and YUMMY colors. That paper makes me want to find my old viewfinder!!!

Another SUPER cute card using this fun set...and I LOVE the bright, funky, FUN colors she has used...it's just TOO fun!!

Well, that is it for me for today! Be sure to check out Nancy's blog and check out her amazing work!!

Wednesday Trend: Washi Tape!

Are you like me and got caught up in the whole Washi tape craze??

You probably bought your fair share of colorful rolls and then what? Are they still sitting in your drawer, unopened?? Yup, up until 6 months ago, mine was too. I have been on a mission to use mine any way I can, and I'm here to share how I've used it and some awesome new ideas I've found along the way!

In the past week, I've used it instead of panels of patterned paper...

(On The Move)

 (Buckets Of Love)

I've also used it as pops of color on scrapbook pages...

(Chemisty)

Washi tape is a REALLY EASY way of quickly adding color to a card or project! You could use it instead of RIBBON or make a BANNER or BOWS with it...heck! You can use it instead of PAPER!

And if this isn't enough to get your washi tape mojo moving, check these ideas out!!

I hope I've inspired you to get your washi tape out and using it on your next project!

I have been working with Sandra at There She Goes for QUITE some time, and I have to say...she never ceases to just AMAZE me!! Every card she makes is my new favorite, and her talent just keeps growing and growing!! I am thrilled to have her as a teammate, and a constant source of inspiration and friendship. It's truly an honor!

For today, I have a few of Sandra's cards to show off...yes, I will say it again, I'm not being a slacker...her newest cards are just SO DARN GOOD!!!!

Her first card with the SUPER cute new Be My Valentine set...well, it's just TOO sweet! I LOVE the cut out with the clouds, her banner, the sentiment banner...the way she cut out and colored the image. I just LOVE it, SOOO MUCH!!

When I saw this card, I had a slap my forehead moment...like, WHY didn't I think of this?? LOL!! My single FAVORITE card with the new Smarty Pants set...all thanks to a very clever sentiment placement, lol! Her coloring, layout, embellishments, and choice of colors and papers helped a LOT, too.:)

Another FABULOUS creation using a few different dies that just make this card POP! Also with the Smarty Pants set...I just LOVE how it's CAS, but SO not!!!

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to head on over to Sandra's blog and check out her fabulous work...it's truly inspirational!

Stampbook Saturday with Tracy

I've had a blast being Trendsetter of the Week and getting to share a few extra projects with you.  Today's project was my hardest by far, which makes no sense at all when I started out scrapping before card making.  Gotten a bit out of practice, but I managed to put together a page to share with you that features stamps from the A Little Treat and Bon Appetit sets.  I combined the images to make a couple of chefs to represent my baking buddy and me.  Don't think your eyes are going bad cause I blurred our faces a bit for privacy.  This is a 8.5" x 11" page and the images are colored with Copics.

Thank you for all the lovely comments you've left this week on my projects.  Hope you enjoyed the week as much as I did.

ABC Friday~with Tracy

Hey!  It's Tracy back again with my post today is for "Anything But a Card Friday".  As this week's trendsetter I get to share a project that's both inexpensive and NOT a card.  There are tons of ideas out there for crafty desk calendars and I believe I first saw the idea for using a plastic picture frame on Lena Katrine's blog quite a while back.  I found my frame at Wal-mart for a couple of dollars, but you probably can find them at the dollar store also.
My hubby helped me with this project by drilling some holes through the frame for the binder rings that hold the pages.

I created two pages, one for January which of course is over, and one for February, using stamps from two of the last new releases from TSG, Sparkly and Bright and Be My Valentine.

The pages are super simply constructed with just some layering, the calendar, and a coordinating image.  This will come in really handy when I'm trying to figure out project due dates and when challenge results will be posted.
Hope you'll take this super simple idea and make it your own.
I'll be back tomorrow with my last Trendsetter of the Week project for Stampbook Saturday.
