There She Goes (Again!) ROFL Taglines

Hi there! It's day three of our fabulous There She Goes (Again!) week and today we're featuring a hillarious set called:

This set is perfect for girlfriends, mothers, sisters, daughters, and anyone else who needs a good belly-laugh.

Check out the inspiration from Trendsetters past and present:

How clever of Maki Jones to use the image in the background as well as the focal point is just great!

Jessica Knutsen used the image in the background just like Maki did, and it looks awesome here too! I literally did a double-take at the sentiment - SO FUNNY!!

I had to feature another one by Jessica. It was so beautifully coloured I had to show you!!

And for our grande finale, Kim Teasdale gave us Dorothy's shoes with lots of beautiful sparkle and colour.. WOW!! And of course that sentiment is hillarious!

So stay tuned tomorrow to see what our new Trendsetters did with these sets. I can't wait!!

Today we're talking about Dream a New Dream, a gorgeous set of floral images and thoughtful sentiments:

You wanna colour them... Don't you?

Here are some lovely cards from the Pinterest vault

I just had to feature this black and white beauty by Sandra MacLean. Her layers are perfection and the treatment of this sentiment is divine.

I love Jodi Collins' colour combo on this card. Her colouring is soft and beautiful.. love it.

And lastly, a  darling CAS card by Jessica Knutsen. Hummingbird lovers everywhere are saying "awwww" right now. This is just lovely..

Thanks for popping in!

PS... I have mentioned it before, but we have a thriving Pinterest Gallery organize by stamp set - with cards being added daily! Check it out!

There She Goes (Again!) What's Up Buttercup!

Hi there TSG fans! It's Tobi here and I am going to be with you all week and I can't wait. If you're new to the blog then you're in for a treat. We like to call this week "There She Goes (Again!)" because we're going to feature 3 "classic" stamp sets from our fabulous array of stamps. At the end of the week on Friday the Trendsetters have been hard at work coming up with fresh inspiration with our TSG (Again!) sets.

Today I will feature What's Up Buttercup

A beautiful set of buttercup images and some cute sentiments too!!

Here's my favourite part - it's a walk down memory lane as I share some favourite cards from the past...

This is by Chris Dark, the illustrator. I love seeing the illustrator's vision come to life in their cards and this just proves my point. Her colouring is outstanding and all of the images look 3D. Awesome.

This beautiful clean-and-simple card is by our owner, Jessica Knutsen. I love that big bloom all on it's own against the sharp contrast of the black.

And finally, this lovely creation is by Sandra MacLean and all of the little details she's added makes this card a knock-out! Her sewing is immaculate and it just framed that focal image perfectly!

Well that's all for now, folks! Stay tuned all week for more fun with TSG (Again!).

Stampbook Saturday

Hello, hello!  It's Carole, back for my last day as Trendsetter of the Week, and I've got something for you that is as rare as hen's teeth: a scrapbook page by me!  Not only that, I am actually in the photo! Are you shocked?  Do you need your smelling salts?
From Millan.Net
Actually, I consider myself a 'lapsed scrapbooker.' I stumbled into stamping via scrapbooking, but you know the story: once I saw the light, I eschewed my photos and 12"x12" paper much like a cult recruit avoids his family and friends.  (By the way, there's a new series on the Bio channel called 'Escaping Evil: My Life in a Cult.' Very interesting and creepy.  Flirty Fishing!  But I digress...) I'm trying to dip my foot back into the scrapbook world in a more managable way, so I don't have to choose between two obsessions.  Thus, I'm going the -- for lack of a better description -- Project Life-ish route.  Check it out:

It's a quick and easy way to share a photo, journal a memory, and, if you want to, add a little stamping flair, as I did with an image from the awesome EVERY CHILD set, which I thought fit the theme of this page very well.  Here's a close-up:
How about you?  Do you/did you scrapbook?  If so, what's your style?  Traditional pages, digital, Project Life-ish (we've got to come up with a better term!  That one is fraught with copyright infringement issues.  Do you know of a better descriptor?  Share it with me!), etc.?  How do you incorporate stamping into your pages?  My Enquiring mind wants to know!

ABC Friday - Altered Canvas Home Decor

Hey diddle diddle, friends!  It's Carole again, and this time I'm back to share an ABC {Anything But a Card} project with you.  Any of you reading this post regular readers of my personal blog?  If so, then you're probably pretty familiar with the backstory of what I'm about to show you.  If you aren't a regular reader of my blog, WHY NOT?!  You really should be.  It's good for you: mind, body, and soul... ;) Surely you will remedy that sad fact after you finish this post.  Anywho, if you've - for whatever reason - been denied the pleasure of reading my blog, I'll give you the short version of my project's backstory:

Ever since I was a young girl, I've been totally obsessed with this sweater of the late Princess Diana's:

And, for the last several years, I've been re-creating it every so often when I find a cute sheep stamp to play with.  The Di Sweater is without question my favorite stamping leit motif and one I plan to return until I die or become totally sick of it (I don't see the latter ever happening).  I've made it up into probably a dozen cards and for an ATC swap years ago (see this post for examples), but I've never made anything more 'permanent' with Di's Sweater in mind.

Until today...
From Millan.Net
I was combing through my stash of alterables, looking for inspiration for an ABC project, when I came across these 5"x7" canvases I had purchased at Michael's a while back:

They're just plain, white canvas panels, very sturdy, about 3/16ths of an inch thick.

I saw them and had a light-bulb moment: I could use one of these to create a Di's Sweater homage that could be hung on the wall of my craft room!  Yippee!  The Poultry In Motion set has two of the most darling sheep in it; I particularly love expression on the front-facing one, so he became my model.  After making some measurements, I determined I could fit a total of fifteen sheep on my canvas (3 rows with 5 sheep each).  And, since I wanted a little extra dimension, I figured I'd pop up his head on foam boosters.  This meant I'd need 30 stamped images.  Here's a start on that figure:

The coloring began.  Here is the star of the show:

And here are the backup sheep, all colored up and ready to be cut out:

After lots of cutting (LOTS of cutting...), they were boostered:

And ready to be joined, then set up in formation.  Here's the finished project:

I have to say, I absolutely LOVE this!  My favorite thing I've made in a long, long time.  Just makes my heart happy!  And these canvases are way cool (and very inexpensive; I'm pretty sure I bought the three that came in the package for under $5.00).  Think about the possibilities: altering these is very much like creating a card, but on a slightly bigger scale.  By mounting what would normally be a card front on top of the canvas, you have instant home decor!  You can use an easel (as photographed) to set it out on a table, you could use 3-M Mounting Strips to adhere it to a wall (and not have to leave nail holes - yay!), or you could adhere ribbon to the back and create a hanger.  You could put a put a panel on the back an write a note to someone, too, making it both a card and home decor.  Wouldn't this be a great gifting idea for a nursery, newlyweds, teacher's gifts, etc?

The sentiment was computer generated, using a free font called 'Shadows Into Light.' Here it is at an angle, to show you the depth and dimension:

And laying flat - you could just pop it into a padded mailer, no problem:

What do you think?  You likey?  Also, I'd love to know: am I the only kook who stamps the same concept over and over, or do you have your own personal stamping leit motif?  Tell me about it!

I'll see you back here tomorrow for Stampbook Saturday! :)
