Stampbook Saturday with Tangii

I'm baaa-aaack.  Tangii again with my last post for my Trendsetter week and today I have a "scrap page" for ya, well kinda!  This really is going on a canvas, it's for my daughter.

The cute little GRAD-girl here is from the ConGRADulations set, I of course, colored her to look like my daughter :).  Recognize those journal lines?  Yup, there THOSE Journal Lines, I did a little "masking"so the lines fit up against her.  The one carrying my daughter is our #1 son, I left the Journal Box blank so he can write her a note there.  The picture is a "few" years old, but she LOVES it!

and my sentiment is from The Beary Best... I think it's just perfect for a Grad picture!
Well that's all for me, thanks for popping by and for letting me share with you all week long!  See ya tomorrow for the Week In Review!

ABC Friday... A magnet bookmark

Hey yall, it's Tangii again.  Today, for my Anything But a Card, I made a magnet bookmark!  My in-laws read alot and you know those refrigerator magnets you get from like the Pizza place, etc?  Well they would fold one in half and use it as a book mark!  BRILLIANT!  The bookmark won't fall out of the book because there's a page in between the two magnet pieces.  So I took this idea and made it pretty!  The set is called Dance, and the sentiment is one of my faves or all time!!!!  Of course I LOVE the flowers too :)  The front flap of my bookmark is a transparency so it's hard to photograph.

Here's the bookmark holding my place.  The sentiment is stamped on white, but I took a few Copics and added some stippling using RV10, YG0000, YR00.  To make the sentiment panel pop a little I "edged" it using E47, just ran the side of the E47 along the edges.  The flower is popped up from the book mark a bit, and I raised the flower so it would stick out of the book.  Doing that also allowed me to use a brad in the center of the flower... it won't get squished or ruin the book.
This is the bottom panel of the bookmark.  I just added some pretty patterned paper to it, and the black piece is the magnet (it hides behind the sentiment panel).

Well I hope you like my bookmark!  I'll see you here again tomorrow with my Stampbook Saturday post (by then I'm sure you'll be well sick of me).  Thanks for popping by & Happy Friday!

Trendsetting Spotlight-Laura Nehring

It's Thursday, and this week's Trendsetting Spotlight has fallen on Laura Nehring!! Laura is part of the Tuesday Morning Sketches crew, and I just LOVED her card from when we sponsored them recently!! I played on her blog for a bit, and found a couple other cards that I wanted to share of her's today...so welcome to the spotlight, Laura!!

The card above is the one that caught my eye!! It was from the recent Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge that we sponsored, and uses one of my favorite There She Goes sets, Jungle Out There. Isn't it SUPER cute!!

Another card that I found from Laura uses the SUPER cute Under The Weather set...another one of my FAVORITES!!

And finally, probably my favorite of the three cards I found, this SUPER cute creation using Jungle Out There...I just LOVE that little monkey SO. Darn. Much!!

Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to go by and check out Laura's other creations. Have a great day!

Wednesday Trends: Creating Backgrounds

Hey yall, Tangii here for this week's Wednesday Trend!  Today we're going to create our own backgrounds with stamps!  This is a great way to get exactly the look you want even if you don't have paper that goes with your theme!  Today I'm going to use Nutmeg, but nearly every set by TSG will work!  For this card I liked the background papers I chose, etc. and I really wanted her outfit to be yellow and green... so I had to figure out a way to incorporate a little more of both but didn't have any paper that would fit the bill.

I started off by stamping the adorable skull image with some Gray Flannel Memento ink, black was just too bold.  I wish I'd had a lighter gray.  This ink will NOT bleed with my Copic markers.  I randomly stamped turning my image in different angles, even upside down.

I grabbed one of the lightest Green and lighter Yellow markers I had, G0000 & Y000.  I don't want the color too pale, but I don't want it to take away from Nutmeg so these were the perfect shades!  I just layered my coloring until it was the shade I wanted.

When I put all of the layers together, this is how it looks... LOVE it!!  Pale enough so the card isn't to busy but not as plain as solid cardstock :)

The next method goes all the way back to my beginning stamping days when I was just starting out and didn't have lots of supplies.  Let's break out the VersaMark!

Again, I stamped the skull randomly and in various directions.

And now here's all of the layers put together!  I LOVE the way Nutmeg just POPS on this one :)  Both of these designs are VERY basic and you can certainly do as much as you want on them, or as little as I did.  Well now you have the "meat and potatoes" for 2 cards... time to add some dessert (ribbons, and hardware and pretties oh my!).

Thanks so much for popping by to check out my post!  I'll see you back here on Friday for my Anything But a Card post!  TTFN ;)
