ABC Friday - Love Gift Tag

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here for Anything But a Card Friday... My daughter loves receiving little gifts, and luckily for us, pretty much anything packaged in a pretty way constitutes a "gift"... even cookies! :)

I created this fun little tag for my daughter using a few different There She Goes sets, Dream In Color, Mixed Media Background Builder and Handwritten.  I started with a watercolor paper base, then stamped the flower image in Versamark and heat set it with white embossing powder.  Next, I colored the tag using watercolors, and then once that was dry I stamped the white dot stamp image with a thin coat of paint.  To finish up my tag, I stamped the paint swash in pink ink, and stamped the sentiment with white ink before filling it in with stickles.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

Her first card was made using Friendbot...aren't they just adorable?? What perfect papers, and I love the touch of twine.

Her second card feathers Hadley who is relaxing in a field of flowers...doesn't she look cozy?

I can't say enough about this card. Whatever I could say would pale in comparison to how AMAZING it actually is...I mean...WOWZA!!!!! Frances used the Out of this World set...and really...really.

Well, that is it for me for now! Have a great day!!
Be sure to run past Frances' blog and say HI!!

Wednesday Trends - Non-focal Images

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here posting this week's Wednesday Trend... One of my favorite things to do is to take the smaller, non-focal images within a set and find ways to turn them into the stars of the show! :) I think it's a really fun way to get a lot of mileage out of each set, and a lot of times these cards end up being my favorite.

There are SO many amazing girls on this DT who can really kick it out of the park when coloring images.  I mean seriously, look at any of the projects created during release or as part of the week in review threads, and you can't help but be blown away by the talent on this team.  Coloring is *not* my strong suit, so rather than embarrass myself (ha!!) I leave the coloring to the experts and try to approach the stamp sets from a different angle.

Case in point? The fun little card I created for today's post using the Aquaholic set.  I'd say the main images in this set are the darling children and their beach accessories, but I can't help but be drawn to the adorable little fish!

In previous releases, I've also been drawn to other non-focal images, such as the arrows in the School Doodles set:

Or the woodgrain hearts from Pandamonium:

The flowers from Amalia's Daisy:

Or even the overlaid hearts from Ginger:

It's really a lot of fun, and I hope that if it's not something you're already doing, it's something you'll try! :)

Stampbook Saturday - Journaling Cards

Hi everyone, Sarah back today for Stampbook Saturday!

I have a confession, a dirty little secret, a shocking revelation. I am a hoarder of craft supplies, and I have a ton of U.F.O's (unfinished objects)

Ok. Maybe that wasn't so shocking, but it's true. Among my not-yet-used supplies are all the makings for a Project Life style album. I just haven't *quite* got around to putting it together yet. While I procrastinate I thought I'd make some CUTE journaling cards using There She Goes stamps so I have something adorable to work with. When I get around to it.

I've used stamps from the new and new-ish sets, This Is My Life and School Doodles. I've also used  In Stitches for all the journaling lines on the cards. I used the same paper (Everyday Eclectic - Echo Park) for each card to keep them cohesive. Let's take a quick look at each one...

I thought this card would be great for a travel page, or anything nature themed. All the stamps on this one are from School Doodles. It only took a few seconds to stamp the journaling lines, and I loved that using the single line stamp meant I could leave space for my images!

I thought the pencil would be cute at the start of the panel. The sentiments on this one are from This Is My Life.

I combined both sets again for this card. I love the sentiment almost hidden vertically along the side. And that little bird looks like he belongs perched there, right?

My last card is all the new School Doodles. I can't get enough of those little stick figures! How great would this be on a page about a first day of school?

I hope I've shown you how quick and easy it is to make your own, custom journaling cards and just how AMAZING these two sets look together!!
