Hello, It's Julie here for your Wednesday Trends! For the most part I'm more of a scrapbooker than a card maker and one of my favorite ways to embellish my layouts is with stamps. I do this is several different ways but lately I've been using stamps to make borders. It gives my layouts a little something without over powering the photos. I generally pick a stamp that coordinates with the theme of my photos, like the snowflakes here from the Stick Together set and create my border. It's usually just a border straight up and down or across the page but I have been know to stamp a border around the entire photo to make it pop. You can also stamp dierctly on top of the photo with staz-on ink.
Here is an example if one of my borders. I've also highlighted my second favorite way to use stamps on layouts, and that is to make a tag. I used the super cute sentiment from the same set, surrounded it with snowflakes and integrated it into my cluster of embellishments. I am definitely a clusterer (is that even a word?:>). I typically will pick 3 -5 embellishments to cluster in a corner, close to my photo. This brings me to the third way in which I use stamps for my scrapbooking...to make my own embellishments! My current favorite is stamping the trees from the Branching Out set onto pattern paper, cutting it out and adding cute little trees as an embellishment. However, anything that I can stamp and cut out is fair game to make it onto one of my layouts...butterflies, hearts, flowers, stars. If it can be cut out I'll find a way to use it!
Thanks for hanging with me for today's Wednesday's Trends! I hope this has inspired you to try some stamping on your layouts! Thanks for stopping by!.
