Stampbook Saturday - Iwona

Hello, crafty peeps! It's my turn to host Stampbook Saturday again, and here's the A4 page that I came up with (I'm sorry for the quality of the photo... as much as I never have problems with taking photos of cards, photographing scrapbook pages is a pain in the neck!)

I was inspired by the use of the "In Stitches" set on this beautiful card by Jessica. I didn't have much chance to ink up these cutesy stamps until now, and I think they'll quickly become my new favourite!

Also, I love the look of the half-circle in this lovely card by the former Trendsetter, Lisa Henke, so I incorporated some in my design:

I used the "Bee Happy" set too, can you see the fun way that I made the sentiment the part of journaling? Got to love puns! :)
Thank you for checking out my page, I'm glad that you stopped by the TSG blog today!

Hooray! It's Friday!!!! Join us right here in the TSG Forum for our weekly Friday Night Chat.
Everyone is welcome and we love to meet new people!

Hey everyone! Corinna here to share my awesome find at the dollar store a couple weeks ago.  Make Your Own Travel Mug!!
 First assemble the following supplies:
  • Designer Paper for the Sky
  •  Designer Paper for the Grass (Die Optional)
  • TSG Puppy Love Stamp Set
  • Coloring Medium
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
1. First Trace the Insert onto the Sky and Grass DP's.
2. Assemble the Background
3. Stamp, Color, Fussy Cut and Attach the Puppy and Girl images from Puppy Love.  Then stamp the butterfly image, 2nd generation, in a curved pattern across the insert.
4. Assemble the Cup!
When you turn the cup, the butterfly looks like it is floating through the air. So cute!!

Trendsetting Spotlight on Crafty Math Chick!

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

This week, we are spotlighting our good friend, Crafty Math Chick!  Crafty Math Chick is frequently in the TSG Friday Night Chat room or is posting a gorgeous creation made with a TSG stamp in her SCS gallery.

Here are a few of her wonderful contributions to our weekly Monday challenges:
Here is a beautiful card using the Angel Mail stamp set.  I love the "rope" with a knot at the end, and that charm....perfect!
Crafty Math Chick used one of my favorite birthday stamp sets, Make A Wish.  Look at how elegant this card is.....almost makes me wish I was 44! (Well, lets not go crazy......lol!)
This last one is a adorable.  She used the Snowy Days stamp set with, yes, a puppy on it! She's a HUGE animal and dog lover, making this card all the more special! We just love hearing her tell her proud puppy stories at our Friday Night Chats!

Crafty Math Chick recently had surgery and we are all pulling for her to get better! Hopefully, she'll see this post and know that her TSG family misses her! If you'd like to leave Crafty Math Chick some well wishes, please comment on this post and we'll be sure that she see's it!  (Wishing you a speedy recovery girl!! :D )

Wednesday Trends - Copics and Memento Inks

Hey everyone! Today I am going to share a few charts with you that help me choose my Copic colors.  With so many beautiful line art stamp sets in the There She Goes store, Copics are a wonderful addition to any coloring arsenal.

There are so many wonderful women that share their coloring tips and tricks out there, that I don't have anything "new" to share on that front.  Instead I thought I would share my charts that compare inks and Copics.

The perfectionist in me won't allow for a mismatched color so I have acquired all of the current inks sold by Stampin' Up, Close to My Heart and Memento.  I also have all of the Copic Sketch markers except in the greys, where I have every other marker. (I will confess that I don't like that minor limitation, so I recently ordered the rest, as I do use all of the greys frequently.  Perhaps I will touch on that next time. :D )

These two charts show you HOW I match each ink to it's corresponding Copic.
These are the matches for the Memento Inks.  I stamp each ink color with a solid image stamp.  Here I used the adorable owl from You're A Hoot.

Mementos are the best inks I've found to use with the Copics.  Memento Ink dries quickly and does not bleed when the Copic ink touches them.  Hope this helps you with a way to match inks and Copics!

The Ultimate Trendsetter - Jessica Knutsen!

Hey everyone! Each Tuesday I have the privilege of introducing you to the Design Team member that is sharing their art, tips and trends during the week.  This week, I thought I'd introduce the ulitimate trendsetter Jessica Knutsen, owner of There She Goes Clear Stamps!  Grab a drink and a tissue, because the design team has a surprise for Jessica today!
Last week, Jessica shared this gorgeous card!
I fell in love with the design, simplicity and complication all at once. It is a beautiful way to use the newly released Buckets of Love stamp set.  To show our fearless leader how much we care about her, we decided to fill HER bucket with a bunch of love!

Holly: From the moment you told me you were going to start your own company and I said "sign me up" for your team, I've loved every moment.   I cannot fathom how a young mom with three growing giggles, I mean girls, can be so organized and together.   You're like the daughter I never had and I just adore you.   There She Goes was your vision, but you've unselfishly let your Trendsetters join in along the way.   That's the action of a winner.   I still contend that you will never get rid of me until you pry my TSG stamps from my cold dead hands :).  Love you!!

Sandra: It's been such a pleasure to get to know Jess over the past year or so. Not only is she the owner of a F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. stamp company, but she's a beautiful person, both inside and out. Jess puts everything into the stamp sets she releases each month and I feel so very blessed to be a part of this company and work for her. As a boss and a friend...she ROCKS!!

Jodi: "I am SO thrilled that Jessica is in the spotlight today!  She is truly our fearless leader and I think she is SUCH an amazing stamper.  Whenever I see her creations, I always say to myself "Why didn't I think of that?".  I am so grateful that Jessica has had me along for this amazing TSG ride!  Not only are the stamps OUT of this world amazing, I have been blessed with Jessica's friendship too!"

Jessie: Jessica is not only one of the best bosses I've ever had, but a truly good person and amazing friend. She's always there when I need her, and I couldn't love her more!!

Kim: Jessica is not only a super woman who can craft up a whirlwind, run a flourishing business and be an amazing mother... she is a friend to everyone on who has the privilege to be on her design team. We love you Chica! :D

Torico: “It means a lot to me to work with you, Jessica! I’m always thankful for your hard work. You are such an AMAZING girl!”

Angela: Jessica knows how to rock the stamp world with her cute and sassy stamps!! Jessica is an amazing person in so many ways... how to list them all? I had the pleasure of hanging out with Jessica for a weekend a few months ago and the stamps definitely match the lady behind TSG! Funny,  charming, sassy!!!  Long live margaritas and poutine.... EH!!!

Piali: Jessica is not only very talented but one of the sweetest people out there! I love her clean and fun design style!! Her creations are always perfectly embellished, with clean layers and look professionally done and flawless! I'm blessed that I have an opportunity to work with her . I love Jessica and There She Goes stamps! Thanks Jessica for making me a part of TSG family!

Corinna: Jessica, I am so blessed to have been chosen to be a member of this beautiful and talented family of TSG women! You are an inspiration, not just in your ability to design amazing creations and commandeer a fabulous stamp company with compassion and generosity.  You are an amazing mother and wife, with an amazing family that exudes love and a genuine spirit of creativity and hospitality.  Thank you so much for including me and sharing all of your goodness!

From all of your DT members, past and present, and all of your customers, we wish you a wonderful 2011 filled with Buckets of Love, Friendship and Prosperity!

TSG90 Wet Embossing

There are several techniques that are essential for stampers to have in their arsenal, and this week Corinna wants us to make sure that wet embossing is one of them! Pull out your heat gun along with some embossing powders and get busy! You can emboss a solid image on your creation, emboss an outlined image and watercolor it, or showcase another wet embossing technique…your choices are endless!

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes wet embossing techniques, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Jan 24th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery.
