TSG45- Yellow Spring Flowers

This week’s challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week- Sandra! With spring almost officially here, she has challenged us to create a card that features flowers and incorporates the color yellow (the flowers do NOT need to be yellow!). After the tough winter a lot of you have been experiencing this year, I am sure that you are in need of a little spring ;)

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that features flowers and incorporates the color yellow, then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Mar. 15). The winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. I will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG45 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Double whammy Stampbook Saturday!

The weekend is officially here, yippee! I hope that you are all getting to sleep in and relax from the daily grind of the work week. Today's Stampbook Saturday post is a double whammy because I also combined it for this week's TSG Challenge which was to case one of the newest Trendsetters!

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week I create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook ;)

I chose this gorgeous card made by Donna to case-

3 of the things I changed were-
*Stamps
*DP/colors
*Used rectangle instead of square base

I took these pictures of Kylie last weekend while we were visiting her Grammy & Grampy. I got a ton of great pictures but wanted to showcase these pictures of my big girl for today :)

The only stamping on this layout is the sentiment which is from the new mini set Beautiful Spring (BACK IN STOCK!!). I stamped it onto Very Vanilla cardstock then cut the words up and glued them to the picture using a Quickie Glue Pen. The sentiment reads "Thinking of you is like the spring. You bring love & joy to everything! I love the way this layout turned out and was pleasantly surprised since I didn't know if I could find enough mojo to even make a Stampbook Page lol!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend but make sure to come back tomorrow for the Week In Review!!

Dollar Find Friday- Jessica

oin us tonight for the Friday Night Chat right here
on the TSG Forum!! Everyone is welcome :)
Click image to enlarge and find out all the details.
Happy Friday everyone and welcome to this week's Dollar Find Friday project! While cleaning my craft room a few weeks ago, I came across a ton of things that I have collected over the last few years to alter or use for DFF projects. So today I am all about using up supplies that I already had trying to reduce my 'stash' a little bit more.

I have created a cute frame project using the new mini set Dance. I have a list of instructions below along with pictures along the way. Just look for the picture with the same number for the directions :)
Supplies
Chipboard/canvas frames (purchased though discount company)
Dance mini set
DP scraps (big enough to cover frames)
Punches (border, Word Window
Ink
Colored Pencils
Glitter
Quickie Glue Pen
Sponge
Dimensionals

1. Prepare supplies.
-Seperate frame
-DP for frame: 3.5x4.25
-Inside sentiment layer: 2.25x3.25
-Stamp images & color
-Side panels for frame: Black-1.25x2 (punch bottom with border punch); White-1 15/16x2; Color- 1 7/8x2

2. Place frame (face down) on top of the DP (also face down) and trace the inside shape of the frame. Using craft frame, cut from corner to corner.

3. Adhere DP to frame, trim excess from outside edges as well as half of the 'triangles' from the inside.

4. Sponge edges (inside and out)

5. Stamp sentiment onto white sentiment layer.

6. Cut out flowers and add glitter to centers with Quickie Glue Pen.

7. Mask sentiment to ink up just one line; punch out with SU Word Window punch (optional- add to Modern Label layer)

8. Assemble and adhere frame panel strips together then cut in half.

9. Assemble rest of frame using dimensionals for the flowers.

TSG Tips & Tricks- Jessica

Hello everyone and happy hump day! I can't believe that it is the middle of the week already, time is flying right by!! Every Wednesday one of the Trendsetters shares with you a stamping trend that they like. Starting this week some of them will also be showing you some TSG Tips & Tricks to give you more ideas on how to use your TSG stamps! I am starting with our first TSG Tips & Tricks post :)

When I am in the process of designing stamp sets, my head (and notebook!) are full of ideas on how to use certain images, cool techniques to try, etc. But when I finally have the stamp set in my hand my creative energy is zapped and I can't find the mojo to stamp with them lol! So while I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you guys today, I started randomly stamping images onto some scratch paper. Then it came to me- when was the last time that I just stamped for fun and not because of a deadline? So I cut up some white cardstock into 4.25x5.5 pieces and started creating scenes by combining stamp sets. That is one of the great things about TSG stamps, many of them go so well together! Once I started stamping I couldn't stop! Talk about holy mojo!!

Keep in mind, I was 'stamping for fun' so there are going to be lots of crooked lines (I even used white out in some places lol!) and usually that would cause me to scrap a project and start over but instead I just went with it. After all, my girls can color them when I'm done and I have even more ideas for card making then I did before :) In some of these there was a lot of masking involved and I used a Copic multiliner to draw in the scenes around the stamped images.
