This week’s challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the Week, Jodi! She has supplied us with a beautiful sketch, and we can’t wait to see your interpretation of this sketch!

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card using the provided sketch, then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (June 14th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

Lisa's Stampbook Saturday!

Good morning and happy Saturday to you. It's Lisa here with this week's Stampbook Saturday post. I loooove this day on the TSG blog. I am a scrapbooker and admit that I don't get to my pages as much as I'd like to. Since I make way more cards than I do layouts these days, one of my favorite things to do is turn a card sketch into a scrapbook page. That's what this post is all about. I used this great card by Mercy to make this Kindergarten layout of my middle guy. I didn't have my camera during this end of the year picnic and author's tea, but my MIL did. I knew if I didn't scrap these pictures right away they'd get lost. I just love the strips of dp and that giant circle peeking out from the corner of the main panel. I flipped the sketch and was able to add three pictures to the main panel. I used the title instead of piercing around the circle by stamping the great TSG alpha, A-z and 123 (upper and lower case AND numbers all in one set-too cool!). I even added an open polka dot pattern to my background with one of the circle frames from this set.
Then I needed something to fill that lower left side of the main panel and thought Aim for the Clouds was the perfect accent. Easy 'nough, and cute if I don't say so myself. Thanks for stopping by today. Check back tomorrow for the WIR post!
Hugs, Lisa

Dollar Find Friday and Friday Night Chat

Join us tonight right here in the TSG forum for our Friday Night Chat!
Everyone is welcome and we love to meet new people :)

Hey everyone!! I'm here with this week's Dollar Find Friday post. My dollar find was in the $1 bins at my "not so" local, Joann's. It was this cute little address book, that I decided to make cuter.

I started by removing both the front and back cover. I then covered them with black card stock, then layered that with red and some Rockabilly DP from SU.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Dance set, and layered it with red. My flowers and leaves were stamped separately, then colored with Copics, cut out, and added on. I did add brads to the center of my flowers....for some reason, they just needed them

And there you have it, my altered address book!! Here is a tip for all of you out there....when adding your card stock layer to the front, be sure to use a strong adhesive. JUST DON'T put it where you are going to have to punch holes...what a mess!! Don't ask me how I know....

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you enjoyed!!

~Trendsetting Spotlight on Banu N ~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Welcome to Thursday, There She Goes friends! I'm going to start out this post with a little *tease*. Jessica has already given the Trendsetters a little peek of what's to come for this month's release. I cannot WAIT til you all see what's in store!! Oh my word!! Let me just say there is a little *twist* to this month's release :).

This week we are shining the Trendsetting Spotlight on Banu N. Banu caught my eye with this little beauty, made with the Sweat Pea set.

Each week, when I choose the spotlight stamper, I send them a little Q and A so I can write things about them in this post. I have to tell you that Banu gave me such a giggle. She is originally from India, but has lived in Texas since 1997. She made a point to tell me she does not drink Dr. Pepper (The beverage of choice for many Texans!). It struck me as funny because my brother lives in Carrollton, Texas (not far from Banu!) and his favorite drink is Dr. Pepper!

Banu has been married to her husband, Rajesh for 11 years. Although she does have other relatives in the states, her parents still live in India. She and Rajesh have no children but she would love to have a dog someday.

Banu loves to color images, for use on cards, scrapbook pages and tags. Her go to embellishment is ribbon, though she loves buttons, too. When she isn't stamping, she likes to "window shop online" (hey! I do that, too!!) and she also loves to read.

Banu, I can't thank you enough for sharing your passion with us. You can see more of Banu's work on her blog ~ Stamping With Passion.

Hugs!

Wednesday Trends- Cork

I don't know if you have noticed, but I have been seeing cork EVERYWHERE!! I have seen it used as sand, as dirt, as wood, the sky is the limit!! I didn't do anything like that with mine today, but I do have two samples showing how I incorporated them into my cards.

My first card, I made using the new Dadisms set. I wanted to use it as part of my background to give it a wood feel....success?? I think so!! My sketch is from Mercy's blog from a few week's ago....by the way, did you SEE who this month's guest muse is??? You know her, you love her, and she may or may not be the brains behind this whole COMPANY!!! Oh YA BABY!! It's the boss lady!! Love ya Jess!!! Congrats!!

My second card was made using the By The Sea set.....and yep, you guessed it!! I wanted it to look like sand. Gotta love the yummy texture it adds to EVERYTHING!!
Well, that is it for me now!! May the cork be with you!! (PS-blog posts should not be written after 9hr workdays, hopped up on caffeine and emotional adrenaline, LMBO)
