TSG62- Color Challenge

This week’s challenge was brought to us by Donna! She has stepped down as a Trendsetter, but we wanted to go ahead and use her fabulous color challenge of ORANGE, RED, and BROWN. You can use any shades of these colors, and you can use additional colors as well…just make sure that the three main colors appear on your card/project. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes the provided color combination, then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Inlinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (July 12th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG62 so we can check out your beautiful work!

…Stampbook Saturday- Mercy

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week we create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook.  ;)

This week I wasn’t inspired by a card as much as I was inspired by my youngest son.  He sat down one afternoon this past week without any prompting, and he created his very own “Bucket List”.  Let me explain what this is.  A Bucket List is a series of events/activities that someone wants to achieve before they die.  Some of his were: to write a one-hit wonder, to slow dance with Lady Gaga (LOL), and to get a tattoo by Kat Von D.  I was so tickled when he read me his list of dreams and wishes, so I decided that I would create my very own (yet short) Bucket List Book.

2. Meet Robert Pattinson [sigh} (Happy Day, LOL Taglines);

3.  Travel through the Tuscan countryside with my hubby for a month (ROFL Taglines);

4.  Be an extra in a film (ROFL Taglines);

5.  Have one of my cards published in a popular magazine (Home Sweet Home).

* All images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & colored with Copic Sketch Markers

* I kept the layouts very simple, so it would be quick and easy to assemble.  I added some piercing to each of the list pages using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, and all of the images were popped off of the pages using Dimensionals.

* The cover page is a close-up photo of me with an overlay of Vellum.  “Bucket List” was created in Adobe Photoshop and printed directly onto the Vellum.  Jumbo eyelets were added to the upper left-hand corners of each page using a Crop-a-Dile,  then a Round Metal Clip was used to secure the pages together into a flip book.

* Miscellaneous Ribbons were ties around the metal clip, then several Buttons were attached to the cover using Glue Dots.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed today’s Stampbook Saturday!  {{{Hugs}}}

Dollar Friday Find - Danielle

Please join us tonight right here in the TSG Forum for our weekly Friday Night Chat! It is a great way to meet new friends, chat with Trendsetters and unwind after a long week. Everyone is welcome and we love to meet new people! The official chat doesn't start until 7:00 PM Pacific time but feel free to stop in at any time during the day to say hello. Need a reminder? Send me an email with "Reminder" as the subject and I will send you an email 15 min. before the chat begins :)

What is Dollar Find Friday? Every Friday the featured Trendsetter will share a project with you that was created using an item that costs $1 or less. Everyone loves a good bargain...now we will show you some ideas on how to actually use those great finds!
Hi everyone! It's Danielle again with another project... a very colorful one! I love making and altering little boxes and when I saw this plain 4" x 4" paper mache box at the local big box craft store for a $1.00 I had to buy it!
I forgot to take a before picture but I think you can imagine how the original looked. :) Here is the finished decorated box. I was in the mood for more flowers so I stamped one of the images from the Flowers Of Happiness stamp set on white cardstock four times, colored with Copic markers and cut out. I then smooshed them into my VersaMark pad and heat set with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder (I did this twice for each flower). To finish each flower I sewed a button to the middle with jute.

I then decided the box needed even more flowery goodness so I diecut a flower from red felt three times with a Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. I modified the first flower to overlap two of the petals and then sewed all of the flowers and a couple buttons together with jute.
The sentiment is from the newly released Polka Dot Pals set and the lovely designer paper I used is from My Mind's Eye.

I covered the bottom of the box with more designer paper from My Mind's Eye. I cut the paper to size and then adhered to the box with Perfect Paper Adhesive (similar to Mod Podge). Once dry I sanded off the excess paper and sponged the edges with Tea Dye Distress ink.

Now the question is... could I actually part with this box? Hee hee. I might just have to keep this one! :)

~Trendsetting Spotlight on Erin L~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Hello, friends!

This week we're shining the spotlight on Erin L! My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw this display by Erin.

Made with the recently released A Woman's Place set, this side step card has it all! Love love love the retro feel!!

Erin began stamping about five years ago. She had been a scrap book person prior, but caught the bug and well, you know...

Erin has had her work published in the ACT newsletter (Canada). She is a ribbon and flowers kind of girl who also loves her nestabilities.

Erin also enjoys letterboxing. I was not familiar with letterboxing, but Erin explains it like this:
What's letterboxing you ask? Well if you have ever heard of geocaching it's a lot like that. Basically you get clues to find boxes hidden in the woods that contain a hand carved stamp (yes stamps are involved) and a log book. When you find the box you stamp your signature stamp in the boxes log book and stamp it's stamp in your personal log book. We have seen the most amazing things while "boxing" that otherwise we would never know were there. It's also great exercise without feeling like your exercising.

She hails from Indiana, but currently lives in Minnesota with her hubby of 7 years and their 4 yr old daughter.... whom I hear has quite a collection of her own stamps!

Thanks so much, Erin, for sharing a bit of yourself with us. You can read more and see more of Erin's work on her blog ~ Stamp til U Cramps.

Hugs!
