Stampbook Saturday - Danielle

Hello Crafty Friends!

This is Danielle checking in with a Stampbook project to share with you!

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week we create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook. ;)

I made this card very recently... so recently that I havn't even shareed it on my blog yet! I loved the colors, stitching and felt and thought it would be perfect inspiration for a scrapbook page!

And here is my gardening page:

I'm intimidated by a 12 x 12 canvas so I went a little smaller and created an 8 x 8 page. I used the stamp set Bee Happy and created a honeycomb background panel and added a couple fat bumblebees as accents.

And a closeup - I couldn't resist. I had to add glitter to the wings of the bumblebee. Just had to!

Dollar Find Friday- “Ruff” Day Pick-Me-Up Tote

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's Mercy here with another installment of Dollar Find Friday!  Before we get started with that, I wanted to remind you to join us tonight on the right here on the TSG Forum for our TSG Friday Night Chat!  The chat officially begins at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (10 PM EST), but feel free to stop in at any time during the day to say hello :)

Now for my Dollar Find Friday project!

What is Dollar Find Friday? Every Friday the featured Trendsetter will share a project with you that was created using an item that costs $1 or less. Everyone loves a good bargain...now we will show you some ideas on how to actually use those great finds!

I lucked out at my local Michael’s craft store, and racked up on some of these wonderful $1 wooden totes!  A little acrylic paint, some cardstock, and assorted candies….and VIOLA….you have a treat basket that anyone would love to have!  Who will turn down chocolate…seriously???  :)

dollar_find_friday_080610I started by sanding the edges with some heavy-duty sand paper, then painted this tote in a bright and cheerful blue using a sponge brush.  The focal panel consists of images from the newly released “Puppy Love” stamp set from There She Goes, and were colored using Copic Sketch Markers.  I added some simple piercing around the edges using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, and popped the sentiment panel off of the tote using some Dimensionals.  The candies were wrapped up in White Tissue Paper, and tied up with some Black Saddle-Stitched Ribbon.  The candies were then nestled gently into the tote, and the project was complete.

That's it for me!  What do you think?  I know that I'll definitely be making more of these for my friends, and also as birthday and thank you gifts...the possibilities are limitless!  Now get in your craft room and start creating!  ;-)

~Trendsetting Spotlight on Amy W~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Hello friends! Today's Trendsetting Spotlight is on Amy W! Amy stopped me dead in my tracks with this beauty she made using the Happy Day set.

Amy has always had a love for stamping, even as a little girl. When she found a card making shop in an advertisement, she signed up and fell in love. She is now an SU demo in the UK.

She loves to use both ribbon and buttons on her creations. She has written articles for a UK magazine called Making Gifts. Her next goal is to get some of her cards in mags. Go, Amy!

When she's not stamping, Amy is one busy girl! She has two part - time jobs, one as a teacher and the other organising education events at her city's Cathedral. She also directs the church's music team, plays piano and sings! I'd say Amy is amazingly gifted!

Hailing from Australia originally, Amy went to University in the UK where she met her husband of nine years. They have settled nicely in Bristol. They have fur-babies (four) right now. That's good practice for future parenthood :).

Thanks bunches to Amy for sharing her talent with us. You can find more of her awesome style on her blog, Devlinwhite Designs.

Hugs!

TSG66- Watercolor Wonder

This week’s challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the Week, Mercy! For this challenge you will need to pull out your paint brushes, aqua brushes, or blending stumps along with some ink pads, watercolor pencils, or distress inks…we’re going to WATERCOLOR! You may have a different way to watercolor other than the ones that I’ve listed, but as long as you watercolor you’ll be just fine. I know it’s hard to drop the Copic Markers, but let’s go back to coloring basics! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that incorporates watercoloring, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (August 9th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG66 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Need some inspiration to help you get started? Check out these great cards made by the following Trendsetters!
