Stampbook Saturday - Pam

Hello and happy Saturday my friends. Pam here bringing you this week's Stampbook Saturday.

What is a Stampbook Page? A stampbook page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week we create a new stampbook page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos you've been meaning to scrapbook.

I saw this recent card by the amazingly sweet and awesomely talented Jodi Collins and knew I had the perfect pic that I wanted to make a stampbook page with. Jodi is such an inspiration to me and I just love her beautiful coloring and shading on her main image panels. Combine that with her wonderful sewing and color combos ..... wowzers. OK, here is her amazing card.

I made this pic of my hubby and one of our Beagle dogs Lily this summer. He absolutely adores this dog, as you can see from the pic, and I knew that our new set Puppy Love would be perfect for my page. I was so happy when Jessica released this set last month. I have so many pics with my hubby, my son, and even myself with our fur babies. Here is my stampbook page.

Isn't that just the cutest pic you have ever seen? I LOVE it. Thanks for stopping by today. Get out there and make some stampbook memories of your own. I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends.

Hugs,

Pam

~ Dollar Find Friday & Friday Night Chat ~

Hello and welcome to Dollar Find Friday!

Before I begin, I want to remind you that we will have our regular Friday Night chat right HERE on the TSG forum. The chat begins at 7pm pst (10 pm est), but feel free to stop in any time during the day to say hello!

My project today is a fun little message board. I found these 6 x 6" square corkboards at the dollar store (4 for a buck!). So we're going to dress it up!

Here's what I used:
1 - 6 x 6 piece or corkboard
1- 7" x 8" piece of black cardstock
1- 7" x 8" piece of white cardstock
1- 7" x 8" piece of chipboard (I used the backing to a dp pack) - cut in half to measure 3 1/2" x 8" each
Largest label 8 nestability
flatheat tacks
dimensional tape
sticky tape
ribbon
~ supplies to decorate

First I scored the white and black cardstock on the 7" side at 3 1/2" (so it would fit through the cuttlebug). Find the center of the fold and position the nestie half way onto the cardstock. This will create the complete cutout when opened up. Do the same with each side of the chipboard.

Set those aside and decorate your cardstock as desired.

Line up the two pieces of chipboard and use sticky tape to hold them together. Adhere the white cardstock on top of the chipboard frame. Cut the black frame in half and adhere to the bottom of the frame. Use ribbon to cover the area where the two colors meet and to reinforce the frame.

For the pin heads, I stamped the small flower from the Polka Dot Blossoms set and adhered them to the flat head tacks. I also adhered a tack to one of the little lady bugs.

And here is my completed project!

I have also added strips of magnet to the back so I can attach it to my refrigerator!

Now I have three more little corkboards to decorate! What do you think?!

Hugs!
Holly

~Trendsetting Spotlight on.... Jessica K!!!~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Ok, you might think I'm cheating by putting the Trendsetting Spotlight on our fearless leader, Jessica Knutsen, but I thought it was high time she heard what we think of her :).

To begin with, she is a fabulous stamper. Look at these two beauties. This first card she made with the Domestic Goddess and Loads of Fun sets.

And this one, one of my personal favorites, was made with the A Woman's Place set. Just look at that detail!

Ok, now let me gush a bit. I've been with Jessica since she started this fabulous company. She is one smart cookie. The sets she releases are smart. This set works with that and so on. So when you get a TSG set, you're really getting part of a bigger picture.

She's tireless. She's a wife (Hey Matt!), a mom (to three little spitfire girls!) and a very savvy business woman. She's a lot of fun to work with and for. Many of her design team members refuse to leave! :)

Her creativity knows no bounds. Have you ever seen the tip sheets she does?! Amazing!

I feel comfortable in speaking for the team, when I say you're the best, Jessica!! You can see more of her gorgeous work on her blog, There She Goes.

Jessica, thanks so much for all you do. Thanks for being the kind of leader that we all aspire to be.

Hugs!!

Wednesday Trends ~ Piercing and embellishing those flourish type stamps ~

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Holly here with a couple of quick tips on how to get the most of your stamps. We're all loving the fancy flourish piercings that stampers are using these days. You can achieve that look simply without an expensive template!

First, stamp your flourish image (I used the "blowing snow" from Penguin Love and the smaller bee trail from BEE Happy) in the same color ink as your cardstock or versamark.

Next, place a piercing mat below your cardstock and pierce the dots. I use a very small piercing tool for small images and a larger piercing tool for larger images. It does not have to be a dotted image as I have used here. It can be a solid flourish. With a smaller flourish, simply take your time and space your holes as evenly as possible.

You can also use this same technique to create those wonderful 1/2 pearl fourishes! Simply stamp your flourish image and place your pearls in a graduated pattern (larger towards the bottom and graduate to smaller towards the top).

Complete your project!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check back tomorrow :). I am featuring a very special stamper in the Thursday Trendsetter Spotlight!

Hugs!
