Stampbook Saturday ~ Sandra

Hi Everyone! It's Sandra here with another Stampbook Saturday inspiration page for you!

I have held onto this photo of my Grandpa and I ever since I moved to the US, over ten years ago. Hands down, it's my absolute FAVORITE childhood photo! I love it because it's obvious how much we adored each other and how much of a tomboy I was with my face covered in all that dirt! But for the last 10 years it's been sitting in a photo album that never gets opened. So I decided today was the day to pull it out and make a stampbook page with it!

To make this page I used a few TSG sets. Can you guess which ones?? LOL! I used Torico's In Stitches and Day or Night sets for the borders and the popped up hearts. The sentiment on the photo was from Julie's Sentimental set. If the layout looks familiar, it's because I borrowed it from this week's MOJO178 sketch.

These days, when I do get around to creating scrapbook pages, I like to experiment with things, so when I saw Torico's card below a couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with the simple, muted colors on the kraft cardstock background and wanted to create something similar.
Isn't it gorgeous?!! I love, love, LOVED the simplicity of it and yet it's so striking! And can you believe there are no layers to this card?! Crazy! Her work makes me drool!

I hope my 'experimenting' has inspired you to try something different today! Enjoy your Saturday!

Dollar Find Friday and Friday Night Chat!

Join us tonight right HERE in the TSG forum for our Friday Night Chat!
Everyone is welcome and we love to meet new people :)

Today's Dollar Find Friday is brought to you by Megan Lock!

Chipboard coasters have been all the rage in paper crafting for years now. You can buy them in bulk or you can buy them in small quantities for pennies!

Megan has used four coasters to make a wonderful wall hanging for her husband's office.

She started by covering each coaster in designer paper.

The coasters are then decorated with various images from the Chemistry set.

Finally, the coasters are tied together with a strong, multi-strand thread and just like that you have this adorable wall hanging!

What an absolutely adorable and quick gift this would make! Don't you think?!

Thanks for stopping by. Please join us tonight for Friday Night Chat!

Trendsetting Spotlight on Kelly Collins!

Hey everyone!  It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

This week, the trendsetting spotlight is shining on Kelly Collins!
I am a SAHM of four beautiful girls. I started stamping cards four years ago and just love it!I am also a big fan of Splitcoast Stampers, where I am known as "stinkincute".
Kelly made a GORGEOUS card for Sandra's Supply challenge:
She used the gorgeous stamp set, Wrapped In Joy and paper pieced the dress with one of the gorgeous patterned papers she used in the card background. Three patterned papers...check.  Two buttons...check.  On glittery element....check.  Isn't this card just the epitome of Joy?! *sigh*

Here are a couple more of Kelly's cards.
Both of these cards use the Wonderful Winter Wishes stamp set and I must say....they sure are wonderful!

 A little about Kelly:
1. My favorite kind of challenge is definitely a sketch challenge.

2. My go to embellishment is ribbon - grosgrain, satin, twine, striped - all of it!! You'll find it on almost every card I make, even masculine cards. To me, the card isn't finished until the bow is tied!

3. My favorite technique is paper piecing. I think it's a great way to tie the image in with the background designer papers or cardstock.

You can see more of Kelly's work at her blog...Stamps 'n Shamrocks.

Wouldn't you like to be in the spotlight?  Just play along with this week's challenge issued by Trendie Megan, to use pink, craft and ivory.  Come on, give it a whirl....and maybe we'll see YOU in the spotlight!

Wednesday Trends ~ Decorative Stitches

Hi TSG friends and cheerleaders!

Today's Trend is brought to you by Megan Lock! We are always looking for ways to spice up our projects and to do so at little cost is a BONUS!

How about adding some simple hand stitches? It adds such a wonderful home spun feel! All you need is a needle, some embroidery thread. A piercing mat is optional, but does make it easier to make nice even stitches.

Simply pierce your paper as shown below and create some little cross stitches. It adds such a nice little bit of texture, too!

Why don't you give it a try?! If you do, stop back by and leave a link in the comment section so we can see what you've done!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy this fun trend!!
