Stampbook Saturday- Jessica

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend so far :) Today I have a Stampbook page to share that was inspired by this fun card that Danielle made using the new Float My Boat stamp set.

This is one of my favorite pictures that I took of my adorable godsons. Every time I look at this picture, it just makes me want to smootch those little cheekers lol!
Blake and Troy
You will notice that for the boat image, I masked out the puppy that is normally there and instead added another little boy that was stamped onto a separate piece of cardstock, colored, cut out and adhered to the boat image using dimensionals. Both the green and orange ribbons are from Ribbon Carousel.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come back for release week starting Monday!!

Dollar Find Friday with Tobi

Hi there TSG fans, it’s Tobi here with your Dollar Find Friday blog feature..

Remember these?

aug18coffee4

About 3 years ago coffee bags were all the rage in the paper crafting world and you couldn’t look at a blog without seeing one of these puppies altered. Then, they went away and I haven’t seen one since. Isn’t that weird how that works? Anyway… I think they make wonderful gifts (if you fill them with something, haha) so I thought I’d do a really quick altered/dressed-up coffee bag.

First, I pulled out Freeze the Moment stamp set, stamped the image on white cardstock and mounted it on a couple of nestabilities dies:

Then, I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and adhered it to a purple scalloped die cut and glued it to the bag:

(Really simple so far…) And then, I adhered the label to the bag:

Oh yah, I added some black pearls because it didn’t look fancy enough for me.. But how easy, AND CHEAP is this gift??!! Now, if I went and filled it with caviar, not so much, but I think I will fill it with some healthy cookies for a dear friend who’s having a birthday coming up.

So go hunting through your stash and re-visit those poor, un-used coffee bags and have fun with it!

Take care!

Tobi

Trendsetting Spotlight on Jan!

Hey everyone! It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in a previous week's TSG challenge. You can find this week's challenge HERE.  This week the spotlight is shining on Jan Farnsworth of Tweet Designs!

Jan doesn't have a pic or bio on her blog, but her cute submission for TSG119 was so adorable!
Jan used the the new Float My Boat stamp set to make this adorable card. Behind the boat, to draw your eye to the focal image, Jan used an embossed piece of CS cut like a flag! I love the coloring and the photo turns are great.  And here are a few other gorgeous creations from Jan using TSG stamps:
Jan made this beauty using "Get your Thong On".  The colors are so beachy and the spiral clips with cute gingham ribbon and polka dot background make this the perfect summer card!

And lastly, this is another challenge entry and I just love how Jan interpreted the color challenge with the sweet girl from Blossom by Blossom!  Thanks Jan for being a frequent participant in the TSG challenges and we can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Wednesday Trends with Tobi

Hi there TSG fans! It’s Tobi here with your weekly dose of cardmaking trends. I thought a lot about what is “trendy” right now and after reading blogs, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter I have come to the conclusion that we are all on a mission to organize our stash and use what we have; which brings me to today’s tutorial…
image
About a year ago I cut down all of my scraps to 6x6 blocks in an effort to make them more pretty and useable. It made them pretty, but I didn’t use them that often. Recently I saw a person organize them by TYPE and I thought maybe that would help me use them a little more effectively, SO! I had a little crate that was 5 inches wide so I cut down all my 6x6 paper to 5x6 and was left with this:
image
SO pretty, but again, what do I do with all these scraps?? I sincerely hope that I use all of them, but for now I have a way to use 9-10…
image
I gathered up a bunch of like-coloured strips and stared at them….. *lightbulb* Why don’t I weave them together??
image
So I started weaving and realized I didn’t have enough papers, so I pulled a few more and weaved until it looked right. I glued it to a white card base and cut it out to measure 4.25x4.25 and used it on a card!

I made a pinwheel (with a scrap) and stamped the perfect sentiment (on a scrap) and viola! A card born out of my need to organize and use scraps… It doesn’t get much better than this.
Have a great day!
