Dollar Find Friday -- Star Ornament

*Friday Night Chat tonight in the TSG Forum located here. The official chat will begin at 7 PM Pacific Time (10 PM Eastern) but feel free to stop in and say hi throughout the day!*

Happy Friday and TSG Dollar Find Friday!! It's Maki again. Today's post is my last day of Featured Trendsetter's week. This week has been passing so fast but I've had a lot of fun time here!!

For the DFF project, I purchased this star photo ornament for a dollar at my local major craft store. I make hand-made ornament for my kids every year and I thought this would be a great one for my son. Since I used his football picture, I used the school colors - maroon & white :)

I took off the wire part and colored the star with white acrylic paint using a foam brush. I needed to coat 3 times at least. Then using masking tape, I masked the surface and I painted the edge with maroon acrylic paint. And I drew dots with white marker. After the paints were dried, I stamped the star & circle shaped image from Tweeterpated set with chalk maroon ink. Each letter of "Wild Cats" were stamped with Palette noir black ink using A-Z and 1,2,3 set. The contrast of white and maroon was little too bright for my taste so I sponged the entire star with maroon acrylic paint. The pearls were adhered on each shape and the ribbon were attached on the back of the star with E-6000 for hanging. I also adhered magnet strip on the back so that I can stick to my fridge:):)

Well, what do you think about my DFF ornament??
