Stampbook Saturday- Jessica

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start and that you have carved out some time for yourself to get inky :) Jessica here with a fun scrapbook page that is based on a card that Tobi made a few weeks back.

What is a Stampbook Page? A stampbook page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week we create a new stampbook page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos you've been meaning to scrapbook.

I absolutely love this card that Tobi made using the mini set Hibiscus! The bright colors popping off of the white cardstock had me swooning from the get go and I just knew the perfect picture to use to turn this card into a Stampbook page :)

I took this picture of my crazy girls a couple weeks ago when we had weather that was warm enough in the late afternoon for the girls to still be able to play in the pool. Because of Kylie's Juvenile Dermatomyositis (you can read all about Kylie's story HERE), she is not able to play in the sun without being completely slathered in good sunscreen, full length sleeves, pants and a sun hat. It would be dangerous to her if she were to get any type of sunburn because it could cause her disease to flare and we would have to start her treatment alllll over again. We are about halfway through her two year treatment plan so that wouldn't be very fun to start at the beginning :(

When we were at the JDM convention in Seattle back in June, Kylie won three special long sleeved SPF+50 swimsuits so now she is still able to play in the pool with her sisters :) It's been a bit of a change from her wearing nothing but a two piece all summer long to having to be completely covered at all times but she is taking it amazingly well and we are so proud of her!
Hibiscus stampbook
I rounded the top corners of the picture before matting with black cardstock and then adhered some of my favorite new pink pleated ribbon from Ribbon Carousel across the page. The flowers and leaves are from the mini set Hibiscus and were stamped onto different pieces of designer paper that I found in my scrap bin. I then shaded them in with Prismacolor pencils before cutting them out and adhering to the Stampbook page. The sentiment on the page is from the stamp set Lighten Up and I thought that it fit the theme of this page perfectly :)

I hope you all enjoyed my Stambook Page and that inspired you to pull out some pictures and give Stambooking a try as well!
