I am very pleased to be shining our Trendsetting spotlight this week on Sylvia-Anne! I got such a kick out of the card below, especially since it's Sylvia's very first Halloween card! Would you just look at this amazing color job!?



Sylvia obtained her very first stamp set (John Bull Printing Set) at the tender age of 7 or 8. The set was comprised of a small black ink pad, a set of tiny alphabet stamps, which she describes being used for newsprint. She says she has been a crafter nearly her whole life. About 13 years ago she saw a demo for heat embossing and it was like magic! She taught her own card making classes for 10 years and enjoyed helping others learn the craft.

Sylvia's go-to embellishments are ribbon and Glamour Dust. I was not familiar with Glamour Dust, so I looked it up and found the following description: Glamour Dust is a dry, very fine sprinkle-on glitter that adds sparkle to painted fabric, home decor and decorating, or craft projects.

Sylvia has not yet mustered the courage to submit for publication, but she would like to! I think she should go for it!!

Hailing from West Yorkshire in the UK, Sylvia and her husband of 45 years (way to go, Sylvia!) have a daughter, a son, three granddaughters and two grandsons. When she is not stamping, Sylvia loves to spend time with her family, meeting up with friends for coffee and retail therapy. Sounds like a perfect life to me! :)

Wednesday Trends : Custom Embellishments.

Hello Everyone!!!

 Its Piali here.Welcome to my 1st Wednesday Trends post.

We all like to match our embellishments with the stamps or colors...today I'll share with you all how I use my stamps to make my own perfectly matched embellishments.

Its a very inexpensive and easy thing...and quite fun too.

Lets make some charms, buttons and more....

You need a stamp set ,SHRINK FILM( you can find it any craft supply stores), permanent stamping ink, coloring markers( I used Copics), a hole punch and heat embossing tool/ toaster oven.

Step 1:

Stamp your favorite images on the Shrink film with permanent ink....I used Hauntingly Delightful and You're A Hoot! stamp sets.

Step:2

Color the images with markers...nothing fancy , just simple coloring!

Step:3

Trim out the images and punch a hole on the top or if want to make a button ...just punch two holes in center.

Step:4

Hold the image down on the work surface( heat proof) with paper piercing tool or needle( anything pointy)....and heat the images using embossing heat tool...at first the images will curl up and then it will  flatten ....TA-DA!!!

Your charms and buttons are ready..just in few minutes.

Step:5

You can use twine or metal rings for the charms..

Now here is my card using these embellishments...

I also use my stamps to customize the ribbons... I stamped plain orange ribbon with the BOO! sentiment.. just to Jazz it up a bit!

I also make earings and bracelets for my girls with these little handmade charms.

Trendsetter Tuesday - Piali

It is with great pleasure that I bring to you, today, Piali Biswas! One of our newest Trendsetters, Piali has been a There She Goes fan for awhile. She always dazzled us with her creations, so when she joined the Trendsetters it was a natural fit.

Piali is a prolific stamper. I am always amazed at the variety of styles she uses, yet they are all very HER!

TSG76- Recipe Challenge

-Kraft card base
-Black, White and a splash of color
-Dry Embossing (Cuttlebug folders are an example)

Stampbook Saturday-Aim For the Clouds

Hey, Happy Saturday y'all! Today's my last day as your hostess here on the There She Goes Blog. 

For Stampbook Saturday, I decided to revisit one of the very first cards I ever made using There She Goes Stamps. 

The set I fell in love with is called Aim For the Clouds.  So I dusted off my 12x12 cardstock and made this layout.

The picture is a 5x7.  I substituted the tag for the mountain image from the stamp set, because it so reminds me of the beautiful Lake Cushman which is nestled in the Olympic Mountains.

Dollar Find Friday - Stamped Tea Lights

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you will all join us in the fun tonight right here in the TSG Forum. Every Friday we get together to celebrate the end of the week with some chatting and fun. Everyone is welcome and we love meeting new people so stop by and say hello!

Well hey everyone....it's Corinna here at TSG again, ready to show you a fun, easy and inexpensive project for the holidays! I found a bag of tea lights at the Dollar Store and decided to punch them up a notch with a little stamping.

First, I assembled my tools: Tea lights, Tissue Paper, Circle Punch or Nesties, Stamps (HSH Halloween Additions, Hauntingly Delightful), ink, scissors or silent setter, heat gun. (Optional: glitter and 1/2" x 5 1/2" strips of patterned paper to cover tin)

Next, I stamped my images on the cut out tissue paper circles. You can use Copics, but be careful to just touch the tissue paper lightly as the copic ink moves fast.

Punch a slit for the wick to pass through in the center of each circle.

Place tissue paper over tea light. Heat with the heat gun until the wax covers the tissue paper. It looks similar to heating embossing powder. The image becomes shiny and you know you are finished.

*TIP: Do not over heat the tea light. The wax will flow over the sides of your tea light. It's not a huge deal, but you want that wax to stay on top of your image as much as possible.

I covered the tin part of the tea light with patterned paper strips and VOILA! Instant party favor, decoration, or gift. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
