Wednesday Trends/TSG Tips & Tricks - Pam

What is Wednesday Trends / TSG Tips & Tricks? Every Wednesday the featured Trendsetter will either share a stamping trend that they love or will show you new ways to use their favorite TSG stamp sets!  I hope you are inspired by this tutorial, and that you will try it out for yourself!  :)

Hi, it’s Pam here. Today I am going to show you a technique I call “Out of the Box”. This technique has been done other ways but I am going to show you how I do it.

1. First, I take a stamped image and pick out a Nestie that I want to use to cut it out.

2. I have laid the Nestie on top of my image so that you can see that part of the image does not fit in the Nestie. That is the part that will be left out of the frame when I am done. I have made pencil marks on each side of the leaves where it sticks out. This is where I will cut.

3. Next I cut on each side of the leaves a little bit past the Nestie edge. I do this to account for the rim on the inside of the Nestie. I then place the part I cut out on the OUTSIDE of the Nestie. This is very important because if you leave it on the INSIDE it will cut the leaves off.

4. Now cut your image out with your Cuttlebug/Sizzix, etc.  You can see from the pic that the leaves did not get cut as long as they are on the OUTSIDE of the frame.

5. Here is the image completed after I have taken it out of the Nestie. Now it is ready to put on my card.

Here is my completed card using the stamp set Dance.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and you find it helpful in your crafting. Thanks for joining me today and happy stamping.

Hugs,
