Hello everyone! Melissa here and welcome to this week's installment of Dollar Find Friday. I had a really hard time trying to decide what to show you all but thank goodness for friends who help you out and give you ideas! :) Thanks, friend!
Do you go to Christmas parties? Do you set your wine glass down and forget which one was yours? Well, fear no more - you can make your own charms to distinguish your glass from everyone else's. I started with some purchased charms because I wanted to have the ring a bit more rigid but you could try using floral wire or elastic cord depending on what kid of glasses you have. I also bought a package of little jingle bells:
First step - Remove the old charms from the rings. I was lucky that the charms were something I could use again...perfect tiny Christmas Tree decorations. :)
Second step - Stamp images on cardstock and color them. I used the newly released Holiday Ribbons set for my charms:
Step Three - Use the die from the World's Best set (the one on the bottom) to cut out the images. You will also need to cut out the same number of shapes from a heavier cardboard to make the tags more durable. I used a piece of the cardboard that comes with the SU! paper packs - it is strong but not too bulky for this application.
Step Four - Glue the colored images to the plain cardboard, punch a small hole in the top of the tag, and attach it to the wine charm rings. I happened to have some metal jump rings in my stash so I attached my images to the jump rings first and then threaded it, along with some of the little jingle bells, onto the wine charm ring.
Step Five - I had originally bought some beads to "fancy up" the rings but once I got the beads on, the charms looked like a five-year old did them! LOL So instead I just found some coordinating ribbon and tied a small scrap to each ring:
Whew! There ya go - another fun and easy holiday project using items found in your local dollar store. Have a great weekend!
