Hi Everyone, it's Jackie with this week's Wednesday Trends. I decided to challenge myself to use a trend that I wasn't crazy about when I first saw it and that is Chevrons. Geometric patterns seem to be all the craze right now. The chevron pattern is so angular and bold it has a tendency to make itself the focus of the card. I wanted to use the Bon Appetit stamp set for my card and didn't want the chevron pattern to outshine the jolly chef image. So I cut out the strips in white and glued them onto a white card base creating a more subtle yet interesting background.
I'm glad I pushed myself to try something new that I wasn't particularly passionate about. Now my head is full of ideas of how I can use the chevron pattern. I want to make it the focus of a card and really let it stand out as a strong design element. Now I'm off to experiment with more chevrons. Thanks for stopping bye!

Oh, I like this a lot and I'm not a fan of Chevron either. I agree the clean and simple solid white make it much more pleasing to the eye and your little chef would be adorable on any background. Love the sparkles on the cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteI am not a chevron fan either, but the subtlety of this is REALLY nice. You may have changed me mind. :)
