Hi! It's Kelly here with a great new use for those Just For You dies that were just released last month - a honeycomb style ornament made simply by using die cuts from the JFY die!
I have seen this done before and there are plenty of tutorials on the blogs out there, but most of the time an ornament die is used. I figured any symmetrical die would work and it sure did!
I started with the JFY die shown here, and cut out 20 die cuts of a pretty Christmas paper that was two sided. This paper was a little thick for this project since it makes the glue dots work harder. Did I mention glue dots? You will need a lot of them!!!
Each die cut has to be folded and glued and then the whole stack of 20 had to be glued together. I loosely followed a tutorial by Becca at Splitcoast Stampers. I had to work a bit to decide where to place the glue dots. I finished the ornament off with a simple greeting from the Seasons Greetings set, tied on with bakers twine. A bow around the red ribbon wrapped this project up! So easy, and a great little gift for the holiday trim-a-tree parties.
Thanks for stopping by today!!
great use of the dies!
