Wow, you guys must have loved last week's challenge because there were a bunch of you that participated! It was so much fun checking out all of your cards :) This week the card that I wanted to share with you guys was created by my friend Kelli Jo! I love how she created her cute tile floor and also that she was able to combine it with a sentiment from another company. I love when people think out of the box!

Wednesday Trends - Coloring With Copic Markers

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! Welcome to this week's installment of Wednesday Trends!! I wanted to share a quick tutorial with you of how I color with Copic Markers. They are all the rage in the stamping world and I must admit, I find it VERY hard to make a card without them!

**Disclaimer** I am not Copic Certified (I am going in March!!!) and this is just how I choose to color...I know there are several different techniques out there and there are some FABULOUS video tutorials out there that have really helped me!! Enjoy! **

For my sample (finished card is all the way at the end), I used one of my favorite TSG sets, Slow & Steady! The snails in this set are SO fun to color!!! Two of THE most important things to remember when coloring with Copics...the basics, paper and ink! I use Memento Tuxedo Black for all my stamping when I am coloring with Copics. You don't have to wait after you stamp and you don't have to heat set. I like to keep it simple! For paper, I use Choice Snow White or Choice Buttercream, but there are many many options out there. SU! paper doesn't work as it has a coating and you will not get a good result using it.

Step 1: Stamp your image and add the first coat of color. In this example I used R20, Y21 and G12.

Step 2. Determine where you want your shading. I almost always shade the right side on an image. I added a darker color of each of the three colors I used on the right sides. In this example I used R21, YR12 and G14.

Step 3. Add a darker shading color but do not cover all of the first shading you did in Step 2 above. In this example I used R22, YR65 and G03.

Step 4. Using the original colors you used to put down the base coat, blend your colors together to blend in the lines of the added colors. Use small circular strokes to blend. In this example I used my three original colors, R20, Y21 and G12.

Step 5. After I am done shading, I often add a highlight to the left side with a white gel pen, as seen in this example.

Step 6. Use your 0 Colorless Blender and touch up around the images to remove any ink that doesn't belong there. Add shadowing around your image. I prefer the Warm Grays for doing this, and I used W0, W1 and W2 here.

Once you are happy with your image, create a card around it!!! For a bit of pop I added some Stardust Stickles to the snail's antenna and the green portion of the shell!

Week In Review (Jan. 11- 17) & Card Give Away

I just love Sunday's! It is so much fun checking out what the Trendsetters have been up to during the week. Stampbook Saturday _ Julie

Happy Saturday! It's my turn for Stampbook Saturday!
I hope you are all having a fabulous day and find some time to stamp!

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week I create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook ;)

I was inspired by a card I made earlier this week. I tried to find a way to fit my
favorite tree on this page but I just couldn't make it work so I copied the layout
instead. I stamped the flower from Garden of Friends, colored it with copics and
added the super cute bird from Birdie Wishes as embellishments on my tag. (please
excuse the poor picture. I will be re shooting this first thing in the morning!) I know
I say it every time I host Stampbook Saturday..but it is so easy to CASE a card and turn
it into a page. It gets me one more photo scrapped with little effort plus it's fun!

Dollar Find Friday and Friday Night Chat

Hey everyone!! It's me, Jessie, and I am back with this week's Dollar Find Friday post. As you all know, I am NOT a fan of altering....well, you may not all know that, but now you do, so for my project, I try to find stuff that isn't too challenging....so I don't scare myself, LOL.

For this week's project, I decided to make a shadow box wall hanging. I picked up the frame at the Dollar Tree for, you guessed it, a dollar! I started by stamping several images from the Loads of Fun set, coloring them with my Copics, and then cutting them out. I then stamped several of the clothespins and colored and cut them out as well. Crazy right? Then, I used glue dots to attach them to my "clothesline", which is hemp twine from SU. I then used more glue dots to attach the line to the insides of the frame.

My background was made by attaching a piece of Slumber Party DSP from SU to the back of the frame. I stamped my sentiment on it before attaching it, and added some socks as a little extra something.


Pretty simple, but I LOVE it...and I can't wait to hang it on my wall, if I ever get my own place!!
