Wednesday Trends / TSG Tips & Tricks- Lisa

What is Wednesday Trends / TSG Tips & Tricks? Every Wednesday the featured Trendsetter will either share a stamping trend that they love or will show you new ways to use their favorite TSG stamp sets! You are sure to be inspired by these amazingly talented ladies :)

Hi, it's Lisa here with you today and I'm excited to share a quick little how-to on making a patch work quilt. I love this look, and it is really easy to create with just some paper scraps (I know you have a ton of those laying around!) and a die in any shape. I decided on a circle piece for my patchwork, and I use an old-school coluzzle cutting system for circles. I place the template over my piece and make sure there are enough squares to fit my circle. This technique makes for a fun background and a great compliment to ANY stamped image.

  1. I first punch out a bunch of squares-I like to use coordinating papers from 1 designer paper pack, that way I know they will look great together. Here I used Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket.

  2. Arrange them on a piece of cs large enough to fit the die you'll be using. Or here, to fit the size circle I'll be cutting.
  3. Run through your die cut machine (here I cut with my colluzzle)

4. Add stitching if you'd like, this just gives it a more realistic patchwork feel.

5. Add to your card base and finish your card off

I hope you'll give this technique a try. Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs, Lisa
