Wednesday Trends ~ Ann

Hi Everyone!! Ann here and I am going to share with you how I make a bow on my cards without a bow maker. Now I am no pro here but hopefully I can share alittle insight into this for you and then you can work with it to create what works for you.

The first thing you will need is a piece of ribbon about 15 to 16 inches long. I tend to waste a bit of ribbon because I like extra to work the bow with. You can always save the scraps for something else.

Now you are going to take your two ends, one in each hand and cross the right side over the left side. Cross over and under and then hold the center with your pointer finger.

Next you will loop over your thumb on your right hand the left side of the ribbon

Now you will switch hands and hold the loop with your thumb and pointer finger and hold the center with your middle finger.

With your right hand wrap the right side of the ribbon around the loop from the front around to the back, under and through and pull to tighten a bit but not too tight yet as you will want to adjust your bow alittle before you tighten the knot.

And viola!!! A pretty bow for your card!! Then you can make the loops as big or as small as you want and cut off the long ends.

And here is my card that I made with a bow:
I sure hope this was able to help you a bit!!! Let me know if I can answer any questions!!! Enjoy your day!!!!

  2. Ah, this card is so adorable. I love the dp, your images and coloring. I don't have a bow maker, either, so this was a great tip. Thank you for sharing. Have a Happy Day!
