Trendsetting Spotlight- Heather

Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Last week the challenge TSG34- Baby It's Cold Outside was to create a non holiday winter themed card. You guys did such a great job on this challenge and I was so happy to see some layouts thrown in there as well! One project that really caught my eye was this beautiful card made by Heather. I love that she used a non holiday set (Act Of Kindness) and that touch of snow on the tree is such a great idea! I also like how she was able to add the name of the challenge to her card ;)
Thanks to everyone who played along in the challenge last week and I hope that you will join us in this week's challenge TSG35- Is it spring break yet? Who knows, you may just find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight next Thursday :)

Some big news and Wednesday Trends!!

As I'm sure most of you know, Faith one of our senior Trendsetters, has set off on a new adventure and starting her own company, Mark's Finest Papers! Faith and I have become great friends since the beginning of TSG and she has been a sounding board for me many times. I value her friendship and appreciate all of the amazing artwork that she has created with There She Goes Stamps. December was Faith's final month as part of the Trendsetters and we wish her all the best!

Since there was an opening on the Senior Trendsetter's team, I have invited one of our Junior Trendsetters to fill the spot. I am excited to announce that Sandra MacLean will now be joining the There She Goes family as a Senior Trendsetter! Her watercoloring is absolutely amazing as are the beautiful cards that she creates and I know that you will love the TSG projects she creates in the future! So make sure you stop by her blog and say hello :)

******************
Now on to Wednesday Trends (brought to you by me!). If you have been a follower of my blog for any length of time, I am sure that it will not be a huge surprise to you when I say ' I LOVE dimensionals!'. Seriously, I'm a little worried that it may becoming an unhealthy obsession with the amount that I have been going through lately. (Which reminds me, does anyone know where I can get itty bitty teeny tiny dimensionals??? I had some a while back that I LOVED and I can't for the life of me find them anywhere! Email me if you know where I can get the goods.) Ahem... back on topic....

Ok, so I love dimensionals. But another thing that I love about stamping is not just 'creating a card' but actually creating a work of art! I find that my very favorite cards are the ones that I spent a ridiculous amount of time on and are usually more of a 3D project. There are so many different styles and templates of cards that you can find online that it almost seems 'boring' to make a typical 4.25"x5.5" card.
For example, you may remember this card that I made with Penguin Love awhile back. I spent pretty much an entire day on this bad boy lol!

The card that I made to share with you today is called a Pop-Up Accordion card. It has been quite awhile since I've made this style of card but I had a great idea for it using the newly released Loads Of Fun set!

The card 'base' measures 4.25"x5.5" (I know it starts out 'boring' but I promise it gets more exciting lol!) with a 5.25x8.25 for the actual card part. I stamped my images onto watercolor paper with Momento Tuxedo Black and water colored with paintbrushes and SU inks. I drew in the base boards which is a great idea that I picked up from Sandra. I just love how that ties everything together so nicely! For the wall plaque, I stamped the frame (from the Home Sweet Home set) then stamped my sentiment before watercoloring and cutting out to add to the image base.
The sentiment I used for the inside of the card cracks me up! As much as I would love to give this card to my husband, I can't because he does just as much of the laundry as I do lol! I love how, with the accordion style fold, I was able to create the feeling of scattered clothes in front of the laundry basket.
Here is a close up of the writing section of my card. I added some stitching with my sewing machine because I thought that it went nicely with the theme of the card.
I hope that you all will spend an entire day on a card at least once in your stamping life. It does the creative soul good :) Have a great day everyone!

TSG35- Is it Spring break yet?

I know that we just ‘officially’ started winter a week ago but I am ready for some spring stamping! I’ve never been much of a cold weather kind of girl and to be honest, I’m a little burned out on the whole holiday card making thing lol! So join us for an early Spring break by creating a card or layout that features flowers :)

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card or layout featuring flowers, then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Jan. 4th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. I will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG35 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Need some inspiration to get you started? Check out these great projects from the Trendsetters!

Loads Of Fun Blog Hop Challenge!

ETA: Mr. Linky did not go live right away like it was supposed to but is fixed now so if you have hopped through all of the blogs, please add your name!

Every week I look forward to the TSG Friday Night Chat because it's like getting to chat with old friends! During one of the Friday Night Chats we were talking about our dislike for the never ending laundry pile that we face every day and I thought that this topic would make for a great stamp set! Loads of Fun is a 6X8 set that includes a total of $30 stamps and will sell for $23.00. The sentiments in this set are so darn funny and I know that they will give you the giggles. One of my favorites is "When I said "I Do", I didn't mean laundry" ;)

Would you like a chance to win a set of Loads of Fun?
Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Loads of Fun Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog hop challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own set of Loads of Fun. The winner will be announced Saturday (Dec, 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

Our first stop on the Blog Hop Challenge is Dawn, but here is a list of the rest of the Trendsetter's blogs that are participating in this hop in case you get lost along the way ;)

Garden Of Friends Blog Hop Challenge!

I realize that Winter has just begun and that Spring won't be here for months but I thought it might be nice to bring a little Spring to you during these cold Winter months! Garden of Friends was inspired by my dear friend Louise. She has such an amazing garden and always has beautiful bouquets displayed in her home showing off her beautiful flowers. When I was at her home a few months ago, there was this gorgeous flower arrangement in a clay pitcher and I knew as soon as I saw it that it would make for a gorgeous stamp set. Louise was so sweet and emailed me a bunch of pictures of the bouquet from different angles which helped in designing this set tremendously. Here is a picture of her actual flowers and the stamp that was inspired by it.
Garden of Friends is a 4X6 stamp set that includes a total of 22 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Would you like a chance to win the set of Garden of Friends?
Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Garden of Friends Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog hop challenge post.
