Stampbook Saturday - Danielle

Hi Everyone! It is Danielle. I'm popping in with a simple 6 x 6 scrapbook page that I made using the Hauntingly Delightful stamp set.

Years ago, while in college, I created a giant spider for Halloween and hung it from the second story of my mother's house. While digging through some older pictures I found a picture of him and thought he would be the perfect inspiration for a little scrapbook page!

I also staged the spider attaking a car, a tree and the shed in the back yard... muhahaha! What can I say... he was a big spider with a big appetite!

Hope you have a great Saturday!

Dollar Find Friday - Karen

Join us tonight right here in the TSG Forum
for our weekly Friday Night Chat!

Hi everybody!  You know when you have an idea and it just magically comes together just as you planned?  I was thrilled when that happened for me today since it rarely happens to this girl!  haha!  I'm here to give you a little something for our Dollar Find Friday.

I found this little goodie in the Dollar Spot at Target.

Now I'm so not a green thumb and I always have to throw away little plants and flowers the kids bring home from school.  So I'm hoping to get a little help from my best Gnomies...

Now, if I had planned this little project further in advance, I would have started growing the basil so that I had some fun leafy greens to show you too, but maybe this will me my "work in progress" and I'll post photos along the way.  Yeah, that was the plan the entire time!  hehe!  He's gonna look even cuter when all that leafy basil comes in!

I stamped the gnome from My Little Friend in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copic markers.  After cutting him out, I used a couple mini glue dots to glue a toothpick to the back of his little foot.  Then I just stuck him in the dirt, just a tad above so he doesn't get soggy, and I'm hoping and wishing this little guy will remind me to water my basil seeds.  LOL!

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!

Trendsetting Spotlight on Jessica Yoder!

Hey everyone!  It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in a previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in this week's challenge, TSG103 Monochromatic Magic brought to us by one of our newest Trendsetters, Karen.

This week's spotlight is shining on....Jessica Yoder!

I love to scrapbook and make cards and I wanted a place to showcase them. I'm an ex-farmer and I miss the country very much so I love to make cards with a farm theme or cows on them! I have a wonderful three-legged dog named Buttons and she is SO wonderful and I love her to pieces. I work as a nursing assistant at a nursing home but really miss farming.

Jessica made a fabulous card using the oh so appropriate for this time of year stamp set Under the Weather.   Aren't those little clouds the cutest?!  Be sure to stop on over to Jessica's blog, Country Scraps for more creations!

Wednesday Trends - Karen

Hey everybody!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a little tutorial on the latest trends out there in papercraft world.  We're seeing pinwheels everywhere right now with images and paper projects, so I've decided to give a little tutorial on how to make some super fun and easy pinwheels!  These are great because you can make them in any size to adjust to any papercraft project.

Here are the supplies you'll need to get started:
  • Square pieces of double sided patterned paper {mine are 3"x3" for this tutorial}
  • Brads
  • Buttons
  • Thread
  • Ruler or Straight Edge
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Glue Dots
  • Paper Piercer or Needle
  • Piercing Mat
  • Circle {I'm using the smallest circle in the Large Circle Nestabilities dies}

Step 1
Draw 2 lines from corner to opposite corner to mark the center of the paper and then using the circle guide, mark the paper where the lines intersect the outside of your guide.

Step 2
Using the lines you drew as a guide, cut in towards the center of the paper, stopping at the mark you drew in step 1.  Use your paper piercing tool to poke a hole in the center as well as the top left corner of each edge.

Step 3
Place a brad through the center and flip the paper over.  Take each corner with the hole and gently pull it toward the center and connect it to the brad.  Be sure not to crease the paper so that the outside edges stay rounded.  Once all the corners are secure on the brad, fold the pins of the brad down to hold the pinwheel together.

Step 4
Place a button over the brad using a glue dot, or you could also use foam tape.

You can add this to a card or scrapbook page, or create a little something for your home.

I put my pinwheels in a little vase I picked up at Michael's and then added a satin bow and the sentiment from Tulip - One today is worth two tomorrows.  Love that!

Have fun with this one.  Thanks for stopping by!

Trendsetter Tuesday-Karen!

Hey everyone!  Today I get the awesome pleasure of introducing y'all to one of the newest trendsetters...
Karen has a wonderful clean style.  Her fabulous sketches and trendsetting skills have made her a fan favorite.    Here are a few of Karen's trendy creations...
I LOVE this week's TSG challenge by Karen, to use Monochromatic colors.  Her sample card using Technology Bytes is gorgeous!  I love how she used the sentiments and stamped the mobile phone on DP.
This fabulous card using the newly released, My Little Friend stamp set, is bright and cheery.  I really love the masking and beautiful color scheme.
The spring-y colors and spirited dragon-fly, from the Bug Me Anytime stamp set, make for a perfect card this time of year.

You can see more of Karen's fabulously trendy cards over on her blog....The Sweetest Thing.  Be sure to leave her some love, and don't forget to join us in this week's TSG Monochromatic challenge. :D
