Wednesday Trends / TSG Tips & Tricks- Lisa

What is Wednesday Trends / TSG Tips & Tricks? Every Wednesday the featured Trendsetter will either share a stamping trend that they love or will show you new ways to use their favorite TSG stamp sets! You are sure to be inspired by these amazingly talented ladies :)

Hi, it's Lisa here with you today and I'm excited to share a quick little how-to on making a patch work quilt. I love this look, and it is really easy to create with just some paper scraps (I know you have a ton of those laying around!) and a die in any shape. I decided on a circle piece for my patchwork, and I use an old-school coluzzle cutting system for circles. I place the template over my piece and make sure there are enough squares to fit my circle. This technique makes for a fun background and a great compliment to ANY stamped image.

  1. I first punch out a bunch of squares-I like to use coordinating papers from 1 designer paper pack, that way I know they will look great together. Here I used Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket.

  2. Arrange them on a piece of cs large enough to fit the die you'll be using. Or here, to fit the size circle I'll be cutting.
  3. Run through your die cut machine (here I cut with my colluzzle)

4. Add stitching if you'd like, this just gives it a more realistic patchwork feel.

5. Add to your card base and finish your card off

I hope you'll give this technique a try. Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs, Lisa

This week, Lisa has challenged us to use pleats in our card creations and/or projects…these can be made of ribbon or paper. We can’t wait to see how you showcase your pleats in your beautiful creations!

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that features flowers and incorporates the color yellow, then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (April 19). The winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Stampbook Saturday with Pam

Hello and happy Saturday my friends. Pam here and I have a stampbook page to show you today of my family. Before we get to my page though I need to tell you what a Stampbook Page is.

What is a Stampbook Page? A Stampbook Page is a scrapbook page created using stamps and inspired by a card. Each week I create a new Stampbook Page to give you ideas on how to use your stamps in a new way and hopefully inspire you to catch up on those family photos that you've been meaning to scrapbook ;)

I used the NEW set Spring Fever to make a page with my hubby and my son with our two dogs. My son is holding our boy Beagle named Riley and my hubby is holding our baby girl Beagle named Lily. We LOVE our dogs. Just look at the smiles on my boy’s faces. My matching card is below the stampbook page.

 Spring-Fever-2

Spring-Fever-3

Thanks for coming by today and I hope that I have inspired you to get out those stamps and make a stampbook page. We need to treasure those memories. Stampbook pages make awesome gifts to family members too. Check back in tomorrow for a look at this Week’s Cards in Review.

Hugs,

Pam

Dollar Find Friday and Friday Night Chat

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you will join us tonight here on the TSG forum for our Friday Night Chat!
The chat officially begins at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (10 Eastern) but feel free to stop in at any time during
the day to say hello :) Now on to Heather's Dollar Find Friday project!

What is Dollar Find Friday? Every Friday the featured Trendsetter will share a project with you that was created using an item that costs $1 or less. Everyone loves a good bargain and now we will show you ideas on how to actually use those great finds!

Hi everyone, Heather here... :)Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created for today's Dollar Find Friday.  I have a confession to make, I'm a weeeeeee bit of a hoarder. LOL I *love* finding alterable items super cheap, and tend to buy gobs and gobs of them because I just *know* I'll have a use for them one day! :) Last fall, I found these little watering cans on clearance, aren't they ca-ute?? There's just something about these mini-tins that make me smile.

I used the Everyday Greetings set as well as one of the leaf and flower images from the Dance stamp set.  Inside my little bundle of tulle, I added a satchel of wildflower seeds. How fun would this be to give to a new neighbor to welcome them to the area? Or just as a little something to let a friend know you're thinking of them? :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today... Have a GREAT weekend! :)

~Trendsetting Spotlight on Katie S~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Happy Thursday!!

I have to tell you, ever since Jessica gave me the
"job" of picking and posting the Thursday Trendsetting Spotlight, I have been having a blast. These girls are just too fun!!

This week, our spotl
ight is on Katie S.

Let me tell ya, Katie had me grinning from ear to ear when she responded to my
e-mail about being featured this week. We'll just say she was VERY excited!

Here is the card that caught my attention, made with Craftier Taglines.

Here is a closeup sh
ot....

In a brief e-mail interview with Katie, I found out that she is from Montana and has been stamping for over 10 years. Katie's favorite tool is her cuttlebug! Girl after my own heart :). She also has three little ones at home, so she is definitely a multi-tasker! Go Katie!!

You can find out more about Katie on her blog, Created by Katie.

Thanks for sharing with us, Katie!!

Hugs,
Holly
