~Trendsetting Spotlight on Christine O. ~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Hello friends! This week we are shining our Trendsetting spotlight on Christine Okken! I have been a fan of Christine's work for years. Recently, I came across this little cutie pie card she made with the Puppy Love set.

When I asked Christine to be our featured stamper this week, she told me about another project she was working on, so I wanted to share this little masterpiece, too! She made this completely adorable mailbox and notecards for her son's teacher, using the Believe In You set.

Check out the little note cards tucked inside. Now what teacher would NOT want this?! Heck, I'm not even a teacher and I love it :).

Christine's stamping beginnings reads like the playbook of every other stamper... SU party, etc...lol. But what struck me as enlightening is that Christine dove into stamping as her husband was recovering from Cancer, because she had learned that life is just too short not to do what you enjoy. Christine served on the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen from February to July 2008. She has gone on to work with two other design teams.

Christine loves to color in different mediums, so we can see why she would love There She Goes stamps! She also loves ribbons, pearls and piercing. I quote Christine here... "I always say a happy card is a pierced card!"

She was recently published in Coloring Techniques for Cardmakers! If we keep our eye out, I'm betting we'll see more of her work in print, too!

Christine and her husband are blessed with three wonderful kids, a daughter who is almost 14 and two sons ages 11 and 7. Christine and her husband are also Student Ministry Pastors, working with Jr High, Sr High and College students. The Okken family reside in Canada.

It's been such a pleasure to feature you, Christine. I can always find inspiration when I visit her blog, Christine Creations.

Hugs!
Holly
