Wednesday Trends - Ribbon Outside the Box!

Hey everyone! Corinna here today to show you some fun ways to use ribbon "outside of the box".  We all know how to tie a pretty bow with our ribbon, but how about the surprise of ribbon being used as a background or in place of or as part of a stamped image?  Well, I've got a few ideas for you today so grab a cuppa and let's get started!

First up, let's make our background for a cute card for grandma.  When making a backround with ribbon, be sure to alternate your pattern, starting at the BOTTOM and working up the card.  Here is my first layer using crochet ribbon.
Continue layering upwards, alternating your pattern, or as in this case, shifting the pattern.
After you've finished your layers, you'll want to move on to your focal image.  I am using the adorable grandma from Little Moments
I used a snip of the Cluny Crochet Ribbon for the item that grandma is knitting and hemp twine for the spooled yard.  On yesterday's post,  written by one of my all time favorite people, Jessie, you can see the Lion's mane that I did for the Jungle Out There stamp set sneak peek.  Any time ribbon can substitute for paper, I do it!
And voila!  Hope you can find some fun ways to use your ribbon as a background or as part of your design.  I'll see you again on Friday when I'll be showing you some more fun ways to make ribbon part of your paper crafting fun with TSG!
